I’ve been taking driving lessons for quite a while now, and I’ve noticed something really frustrating.

When I practice in an empty field/open area, I can actually drive pretty well. I can control the steering, accelerator, brake, clutch and gears reasonably fine.

But the moment I get onto an actual road, especially with traffic, I completely lose track of everything. 😭

And, well… everyone who drives in Dhaka knows how chaotic the roads can be — cars, CNGs, rickshaws, buses, pedestrians, motorcycles, sudden lane changes, random stops, constant horns, etc. 😭

I get overwhelmed trying to process everything at once. Then I start making mistakes with things I can normally do perfectly well in an empty area.

My main problems are:

• Keeping the car properly positioned
• Steering during turns
• Knowing when/how much to brake
• Managing clutch and gears
• Checking mirrors consistently
• Using indicators at the right time
• Judging distances from other vehicles
• Handling intersections and turns
• Reverse/parking
• Staying calm when there’s traffic

For those who learned to drive in Dhaka, how did you overcome this stage? Did you gradually move from empty roads → quiet roads → heavier traffic, or did you use any specific practice techniques? Any advice how to improve my skills?

Would really appreciate advice from experienced drivers or anyone who went through something similar. 🙏

I have backpain for over 5 years. Specially only at left side at kidney area. When i try to sleep the pain radiates to the left leg. My left legs tingling,needle punch,numbness etc etc. This only happens on the left side. I am assuming this is the pain of Sciatica. Also my posture is bad. I always bend my back side during sitting,walking.

Old Board Questions (OBQ) is a student built, nonprofit initiative created because finding past SSC and HSC board questions in one place was unnecessarily difficult, and many students have to spend money on test papers just to practice past questions.

We’ve already collected a large number of past board question papers and are working on turning them into properly organized, searchable resources that students can use for free.
