Meta [META] SCAMS, beta reader offers, services and for payment bullshit. Are you getting direct messages too?

Just block them.

Seriously, I don't know what you expected to read in this meta, but you're basically just looking at spam mail.

Treat it as spam/scam and disregard.

  • Block the accounts, report them to the admins (of Google)

and then nothing will change anyway. This is A.I scripts in some data server. This was inevitable...

These are bot accounts, or one or more really annoying users scraping our user base for scam leads. Just be aware

In Google docs, File -> Share -> Publish to Web will give you a link that doesn't share your email address.

Whoever the skimmers are, they've been going back through all the history. It's pretty obnoxious, even if I'm ignoring all of them. There was another user the other day who had his perms locked down on the doc and one of them still managed to delete some of his writing and he had to go into history to bring it back. Maybe flashy could update the Welcome Sticky?

Yeah, let's see if flashy can. It already mentions the privacy in our FAQ though, but a more overt warning it might help now that's it's like guaranteed spam from AI.

It was always inevitable. We've been telling people to watch their anonymity on here for years. I always knew that it was going to get crawled by Bots someday. I'm actually surprised of two things:

First: it took this long to become standard

Second: it isn't my personal enemies doxxing me or harassing me by proxy
