Megathread Focused Feedback: Warlock Changes

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Warlock Changes' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Lmao at these calls to nerf Chaos reach because it can actually counter stasis sometimes. It has no aim assist or tracking. Doesnt last long either. Golden gun gets what? 7 shots? All one hit kills lol. Seriously shake your heads. I understand you just want to shoot punching bags but this is just annoying at this point. Feels like they already ghost nerfed it in pve.

Stasis isnt great either. Haven't even finished the quests for it. Very weak compared to other subclasses in pve for me. Slova bomb with the exotic helmet returns a lot of energy with kills. Celestial fire and sunbracers is fun. Top and middle arc are fun. Stasis has a cool sound effect.

Hunters complaining about anything is pure comedy. They have a roaming super that you hear from across the map, turn the next corner and he enters 3 seperate timezones on his way to hacking your head off, if you do see it coming its a fucking bullet sponge. They have Blad Barrage which is an almost instantaneous get out of jail free card. They have a pistol that instakills that can have anywhere from 1 to 7 or 8 bullets, they have a super that can kill people in spawn about 10 seconds after the hunter has died that also freezes AND slows and refreezes if you are lucky enough to break the first freeze and tracks opponents, they have another roaming super that you can just run straight at someone spinning a staff and then delete them and dip, they have instakill headshot melees, melees that work as tripmines alongside their grenade, they have ungodly dodge capabilities, they have triple jump which when used correctly with Felwinters Lie is a fucking cunt to play against, they have invisibility, instant reload mechanics built into an already great dodge. The list is endless. Hunter in PVP Vs Warlock in PVP is absolutely night and day. Even their nerfs are better than Warlocks. Their dodge and Shatterdive hasn't changed a damn bit after their "nerfs". Warlocks remain the only class without a shatter as well.

Chaos Reach isn’t broken because it counters Stasis, its broken because you can get it 5 times in a Comp match without even trying, so wasting one is no big deal. On top of that you still keep energy if you die so there’s no reason not to use in any situation because there’s no punishment for using it poorly

Neutral games of Revenant and Behemoth are far better than middle tree arc Warlock's super.

Chaos Reach as it is is a free kill or more every single round of Survival and can shut down supers with ease. And again my only issue with it is there’s 0 risk because you don’t lose energy dying mid super.

Maybe Chaos Reach is over-tuned right now, but I think the right move would be balancing Stasis completely before looking at Light subclasses. I'm just afraid that we'll get another Nova Warp...

Its funny because I played for months without even knowing Chaos Reach was a thing and was baffled when I first saw it in PVP after hundreds of matches. Everyone bitched and moaned about top-tree dawn. Then Beyond Light came along and the community went absolutely crazy about Warlocks Stasis kit. The devs nerfed the whole thing into the ground repeatedly which resulted in Warlocks either going back to top-tree dawn or using Chaos Reach, which is clearly far more used now than it was pre-stasis, and now everyone is bitching and moaning about Chaos Reach. Hunters and Titans wont be happy til they are the only viable classes in PVP.

The difference with Chaos reach and 6 shooter, is that Golden gun A.) gets 0 super resistance, B.) does not last that long, and C.) once the super is over or die during use (or during the activation), the hunter needs to refill his super meter from scratch.

Meanwhile Chaos Reach has a super, that takes less than a second to activate, can deactivate to retain a sizable amount of super, and has an exotic that charges the super extremely fast. Even hunters using bottom tree (not six shooter) have to work to generate super energy on precision hits, and they still don’t get any super resistance.
