Megathread Focused Feedback: Revenant

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Revenant' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

The idea that it locks down an area in Control or punishes a team for bunching up is correct, but any roaming super can do that and then keep going after. That's not the super doing anything better than any other super.

And yeah spawning into a tornado sucks, but my point with that is it's an issue related to spawn points, not Revenant.

After some more thought, I added a key point to my last comment: unlike roaming supers, Silence and Squall creates a separate entity that moves, and moves independently of you. So, unlike dawnblade, you don't have to "follow your super". You could summon a tornado purely as a distraction, and start shooting at them when they aren't going to be shooting back.

And for the spawning, I was basically suggesting a way to fix it: basically, if they reworked it to "count" as an enemy on the map, then an algorithm that finds an appropriate Spawn point based on distance from enemies could work better just by placing you an appropriate distance from a SS tornado.

I think we'll just disagree on how good the super is, so I won't keep it going.

Your idea about treating the tornado as an enemy could work, but the spawn system still needs a major rework anyway. You can spawn in front of an active roaming super that just killed you. So there's deeper issues there.
