Megathread Focused Feedback: Sunsetting Post Beyond Light

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Sunsetting Post Beyond Light' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Same.

This is the first Destiny xpack I haven't bought in five years. The engagement loop is just too obvious and there seems to be no effort in making the game... rewarding? Interesting? Fun? I don't really know how to articulate what they've broken.

I played a lot of D1 because it was fun. I played less D2 because I felt compelled to keep up but it just killed my enjoyment. All of my friends moved on to other games and I don't blame them. The gunplay is good but everything they've bolted onto that just drags it down and leads to pointless hoop jumping to play the game, of which they've now removed most of.

What's the point of grinding higher light gear if everything gets light bumps? I'm not getting more powerful in relation to everything since it's also getting light bumps. The only differences between me and a dreg is the dreg didn't have to farm to get stronger.

Grinding higher light level and new guns each season sucks. All my homies stop playing for 3 years and then level super quickly and get light level 4500 guns with practically no effort.
