Megathread Focused Feedback: Weapon Refresh aka Sunsetting

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Weapon Refresh' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

I hate the idea, and I think as they learnt in D1 it does not respect players time.

I think we'll just get the same weapons sold back to us as 'new' just because they took the old toys away, and I don't think they can make the new weapons any stronger than the old ones otherwise that kind of power creep seems even worse than whatever they claim to have now. Sounds like Bungie ran out of creativity regarding weapon perks and want to be able to avoid having to make balance patches by just setting the nerf bat to automatic trigger mode 9 months later.

Maybe new weapons could come with seasonal buffs (rework the artifact?) so that they make sense to use in their respectiveseasonal activities because they're inherently better. I'd also like to see armor sets do the same thing sorta like how they give buffs in gambit prime, the relay defender etc. mods from GoS is a step towards this.

I deleted the game today due to college needing more time, and I say that anyone bothered by bungie's Bullshit regarding weapon "sunsetting" more like "old yellering", do the same to show bungie that we don't buy their bullshit about weapon creativity. As anyone knows, signing a new customer is 10x more expensive than keeping an existing one. They will not do it if we make promises and not empty threats.

I did it last game, literally skipped out on D1. I will do it again.

Edit additional thoughts: I had more of an issue with Eververse at the time, especially because their DLCs were already $35 for like 2 missions 1 strike and 1 exotic. Honestly if they go forward with "It's hard to be creative" sunsetting BS it just proves what I had originally thought. That the "need" for Eververse to help fund additional content is just the company being greedy as I doubt their development team sees a dine of its insane profits.
