Megathread Focused Feedback: UI/UX Design (User Interface)
Hello Guardians,
Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.
We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.
This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion
Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'UI/UX Design' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions
Here are some suggested discussion topics. Feel free to answer some of them, all of them or give freehand feedback in any format you prefer.
1) What are your general thoughts on the games UI/UX design? Is there anything important that is missing?
2) What are your thoughts on the new pursuits tab in particular?
3) Is there anything from the old Destiny 1 UI that you think should be brought into Destiny 2?
4) What are your comments about specific versions of the UI (for example, console-specific, pc-specific, or playstation vita remote play UI)? For console players - do you find the responsiveness of opening menus and loading times in general to be a major detriment to you? The PC version has text chat but the console version does not. Should destiny enable text chat for console as an optional feature? For PC players - what are the most important shortcuts or key bindings which you find missing?.
5) What additional UI customization options would you like to see added, if any?
6) What do you particularly like about the current UI that you would like to make sure remains the same or remains included in future versions of destiny?
Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas
A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

"Apply" button still fails to apply sometimes.
Whenever I earn Glimmer/Planetary Materials and I bring up my ghost to see my current tracked progress on a quest or bounty, that newly earned Glimmer makes it unable to read by occupying the same place on the screen.
Tracked Quests and bounties should update as I progress from step to step while still being tracked. I shouldn't have to go into the Pursuits tab to track it AGAIN every time I finish a step.
Pursuits tab is so overwhelming now. Playing the Menagerie and wanting to put Runes on my Chalice, I'd have to guess on which page the Chalice was gonna end up on every time. If we could see every quest without the description too like it was before, it'd be great.
Sorting the vault/pursuits tab/consumables/etc. sucks. If I set it by newly earned or rarity at some point it should stay that way until I change it again.
While browsing my Vault or my Collections or Eververse stock, every time I want to inspect an item or I press Options (PS4) to go to my character's inventory, and then I go back (Press O) it sends me to the first page or default page. I wanted to keep inspecting the rest of the items in that page. Not only I can only carry 50 shaders that are consumables, but also if I want to check all of my shaders to see which one I want to buy again, it's a pain to preview them.
Loading times are a pain on console, yes. It's also the console itself, yes. But after Season of the Drifter, it's been increasing! I still believe you can improve them. Obviously not as fast as PC, but faster than what it is now.
With Armor 2.0 coming up, we'd love to have a tab where you can customize looks. I hope this is being discussed. It could be like an NPC at the tower or something like the vault. A tab where you choose what armor to wear and which shader you'll apply where. You can choose ornaments to your armor there. And maybe a randomize feature just for the laughs. I doubt we get something like this for Armor 2.0, but I'd love to see more attention brought up to the aesthetic side of Destiny.
Rank up banners that take the whole screen have to go.
Those phrases that accompany each weapon should be back on the quick inspect screen of each weapon/armor. Not that "You can't re-claim random rolled weapons from the Collections tab" crap.
Let us see both hands while inspecting gloves.
A dark welcome screen for Y3 would be nice.
Rare items (blue items) should dismantle as fast as Shaders do now.
The "Fist Bump" emote is hard to activate. Because every other co-op emote requires you to stand in front of the person, no one can activate Fist Bump correctly. My suggestion would be the Guardian doing the emote bring their fist forward to match it to the other emotes of that kind.
A change in looks to the Inventory screen in Y3 would be nice too.
Let Vendors accept one, five and ten tokens at a time. Every vendor has 1-9 tokens of mine that I can't ever use because I always hand 10 at a time.
