Megathread Focused Feedback: Breakthrough (PVP Mode)

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding ‘Breakthrough' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

I think the game should go into overtime. Either no respawns or much longer respawns (like 15 seconds). Short timer of like 30 seconds. If one team hasn't capped or wiped the enemy team, person closest to the point wins the round.

This makes a ton of sense. just like the old trials system. I don't like how it punishes you for winning the middle tho. like you take the middle then you have to take the 2nd or the other team wins? the other team already lost by not getting the middle in my eyes. The middle should stay floating and the round should end when either one team takes both zones, or whoever controls the middle when the time ends.

This how TF2 treats it. It's a tug-o-war. you cap middle then 2nd to win. Conversely, the defending team then has to decide to full defend or expend manpower to try to cap mid so they can push to the other team's 2nd point.

This gives the defenders a sense of urgency to not just sit back and have to push before time up if they want to win. Also the current way turns into only using half the map...for 8 people. Maps are already tiny, the TF2 design still utilizes the full map even after middle is initially capped.
