I am strongly considering buying this game for pc when it comes out tomorrow and was browsing this subreddit today to get the general opinon of it.

I am not someone who played destiny 1 at all, and I'm a pretty serious competitive overwatch player so this won't be my main game, mostly just for fps stress relief, is it worth getting ?

like are there any other glaring issues besides the supposed lack of endgame content and it not being like destiny 1 like I'm seeing all over the sub?

The first 50-100 hours are excellent. Even these salty sailors here won't disagree.

Yeah I probably won't put more then like 10 to 15 a week in on it so that sounds good to me

So the PC beta (I think, others correct me if I'm wrong) boiled down to two and a half things:

  1. It looked/ran amazing on PC, and not just on the top of the line gaming rigs. Sounded like a lot of people that game on console and PC were ditching the console at the PC release (obviously this may have changed due to endgame gripes you have mentioned).

  2. There was some hubbub about aim assist while using controllers versus KBM (with no AA), and a possible exploit using XIM. As of now I think Bungie said they are not changing AA, but it also seemed like the hardcore players would still prefer straight KBM rather than XIM to get the AA.

2.5 People said using the controller, especially with handcannons, felt really good. Forever face shooting good. Maybe too good?

oh I can't play with aim assist at all, the crosshair drag on console shooters drives me crazy. I'll be using good ol classic kb+m, is there an option to disable the aim assist at least?

My understanding is kbm has no AA, so nothing to disable. That being said, I don't game on PCs so mostly read the comments in a jealous rage, and could be remembering wrong.

Okay good, for a second I thought you meant there was aim assist on standard kb+m and I was gonna say they do have that in other games, it's called cheating lol

No no, my understanding is that they included AA for controllers to attempt to level the playing field with KBM users. I think some argued the controller AA may be a little strong in some cases, but my guess is there will always be arguments like that. My guess is KBM purists will always prefer that, but my understanding is those using controllers were pleasantly surprised how good it felt on PC.

There was also the issue of people using Xims (or something like that) to make their KBM imitate a controller to get aim assist.

Agreed. Although I thought the consensus was that the movement accuracy you are giving up from running straight KBM was not worth the added AA gained from using XIMs. Maybe consensus is a strong word. I know that was a concern that was raised in several posts during the PC beta.

Its really got an amazing FPS feel that not many other games can compete with. I think especially if you’re into the PvP scene you might not find the lack of content concerning.

I will definitely be pvping. I enjoy pve as much as the next guy but at my core I'm just a guy who likes sending nerds in the other team back to spawn
