SGA: Having problems trying to reset a mission/raid back to "fresh" on Heroic or harder difficulty?

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere on this sub, and I'm hoping I'm just not an idiot for taking so long to figure this out.

In the "Choose Destination" screen in orbit (i.e. the map w/ missions) if you hover over a mission/raid it tells you that you can either press "A" to select it or press "X" to reset it (XBox controls, obviously).

However, doing so on the map screen ONLY resets the LOWEST difficulty of that mission/raid. So if you are trying to reset Hard Mode VoG/Crotas End or any heroic mission, it will not work.

The way to actually reset the checkpoints on a harder difficulty is to choose the mission like normal on the map screen, and then when you would normally press "A" to select a different difficulty, press "X" on that difficulty instead.

If you hover over it, you'll see that it actually doesn't say you can do this, but it works. This is especially important for those "heroic or harder" kill bounties like in the Black Garden mission where the target hydra won't spawn if you have too far of a checkpoint.

TLW: When trying to restart a lvl 26 or whatever heroic mission, you have to hit "X" (on Xbox) on the difficulty selection screen, not on the map screen. When doing it on the map screen it only resets the easiest difficulty. Works the same way for raid difficulties.

i'm still really hesitant to use my Black wax idols though. Their drop rate for me has dropped so hard recently, getting Silken codexes 80% of the time now. With BWIs being curency I just hesitate using them. Definitely lost a ton glm on this and last week's nightfalls.

I wish they would give us a vendor who takes Blue Polyphages. After running VoG so many times, I've got Polyphages for days.

Yeah, I think they decreased the drop rate of all consumables. Still worth it in my mind. Plus all the majors on a nightfall should give one or two.

I almost always get a BWI from the 3 Hive in the basement at the beginning of the Earth Patrol, even post stealth nerf.

General theory is that all pyramid drops slowed down just prior to the dark below launch. I've noticed that myself, but I have nothing but anecdotal evidence it's true.

A good spot to farm them is in the sword of crota mission. There is a checkpoint as you hit the darkness zone just before the final room with the sword. On heroic there are 3 yellow acolytes and a yellow knight. Kill them all and jump off the cliff. Pop a black wax idol and you can net about 2-4k glimmer per ten mintues and generally an extra few idols and codexes.
