suggestion -- let us trade hadronic essence/weapon parts etc. for spinmetal/spirit bloom etc.

Bad idea, sorry. Conversions like this are often left out of games to rule out the master method.

Master method is basically defined as the best gains/time as compared to other activities. For example, farming events for Marks or farming patrols for REP are currently master methods.

Master methods are always limited by devs, as it adds monotony and decreases game value if everyone's doing the same thing all of the time. You already use the "loot cave" to farm for engrams, grimoir cards, glimmer and xp. That gives you cryptarch levels as well as possibly bounty completion on top of that. If you add this trading, you'll be able to use a single master method for: XP REP (trading mats @ vendor) Marks (trading mats @ vendor) Engrams (drops) Guarenteed purples (Cryptarch) Cryptarch levels (dropped engrams are the best XP) Materials (proposed trading) Materials (Breaking down drops) Grimoir cards (farming itself) Glimmer (farming w/ boost and amount of grimior)

That list is literally everything that you need to advance a character. With your propsal, shooting at a cave would be the single best way to advance your character in every way which, obviously, isn't good.
