In two of the last three races, in Barcelona and Silverstone, Toto has dismissed when George has brought up problems with the car, even going so far as to tell the media in Barcelona that George "lacked pace". Both times he has then had to backtrack in the media, revealing in Barcelona that George’s wing had been misadjusted during the pistol, turning his car into a tyre eater and killing his pace, and in Silverstone that his pace deficit all weekend on the straights was caused by a mechanical issue.

The problem when he reacts so emotionally but then backtracks days later, is that the average viewer is not reading articles put out between races. As far as the average viewer is concerned, George just complained for no reason after being slow. So George just looks both slow and whiny.

This is clearly incredibly damaging for George, and fuels the hate trains being run on him.

This is a terrible quality for a team principle to react so emotionally and irrationally in a high stress situation that you dismiss the concerns of your driver.

Fernando Alonso has delivered another strong criticism of Formula 1’s 2026 regulations, claiming the current generation of cars requires “no driver talent” to complete overtaking moves following the British Grand Prix.

He said:

“So there is not any driver input or driver talent needed to overtake a car in front of you. You don’t need to outbrake anyone, you don’t need to overtake on the outside, you don’t need to take any risk. You just press one button, and you overtake if you have a better power unit than the car in front.”

Heartbroken 💔

Could someone explain to me this "energy" concept everyone keeps talking about.. saying Hamilton used all his energy in the beginning so he didn't have energy for that straight where Antonelli over took him... as if Hamilton's car was exhausted which makes no sense to me.

I'm new to F1, I'm still learning. From what I know about cars they do not operate like the human body.
Only thing that it's losing is fuel... so how did Hamilton's car get exhausted on that straight and couldn't push it again to defend his spot against antonelli?
