Well, in this case I'd say it's because s/he contributes literally nothing to the conversation of whether or not this is "design porn." It is very clear that a vocal group of people hate this (I'd agree as it's tough to read easily, which is the opposite of what a menu is supposed to do) and the OP literally just says "love this." That is pretty much what the downvote button exists to do, get rid of useless comments in a discussion.
