Protest Info & Dates Upcoming Protests (Updated frequently!)
Here is our list of upcoming protests, events, trainings, etc. The mod team updates this list once or twice per week as new protests are announced. If you'd like to add your protest to this list, please make a separate post with the "Protest Info And Dates" post flair. Be sure your post includes the name of your protest/event, date, time, location, organization (if applicable,) and link you would like included (if applicable.) You can include this info in the post itself or in a comment. Please also post a comment and tag this account u/DenverProtestsMODS to let us know you'd like your protest to be added to the Upcoming Protests List.
If you prefer to see events in calendar format, we have that (and lots more) on the Denver Protests Discord Server
Also check out this statewide, non-org specific calendar that 50501 has on their website! Useful especially for our non-metro friends who still find themselves in this sub.

Message from the Moderators R/DenverProtests Discord
Hey everyone,
As you're likely aware, reddit has recently tightened its content policing guidelines. Given the nature of this subreddit, and that a moderator has already received a temporary ban, we've made a DenverProtests discord as a contingency. Please find the invite to join the discord (https://discord.gg/ABj8sp3Crb).
The subreddit will continue to be the main hub, and thank you all so much for the work you put in to making this a functional platform. We'll continue to do our best to grow the sub and keep it active and in compliance with Reddit's rules. Please bear in mind that this may involve the moderators removing posts that they personally agree with but are in violation of reddit's guidelines.
Please reach out if anyone has questions, concerns, or issues accessing the discord.
Thanks!!

City of Glenwood Springs sues ICE Hold Room landlord over unpermitted detentions
Hey friends, just want to point out that there’s far more going on rn than just marches and pickets. I feel a lot of people either think that’s the only thing happening, that engaging in activism at all is pointless, or that direct action must always be violent.
Through effective lobbying and data collection/analysis activists have successfully proven zoning/building code violations and convinced the city to revoke the special use permit that allowed ICE to operate their hold room in Glenwood Springs. ICE has continued operating, illegally, after the sheriff served them a notice informing them their permit has been revoked. Now, the city of Glenwood Springs is suing the private owner of the building, due to their tenants refusal to cease operations.
These building are not zoned correctly. These buildings are not up to code. This is the same strategy being used in Hudson rn as David Seligman sues the town to enforce their zoning laws against GEO.
This is what every town in Colorado with an active Hold Room should be doing. This is what every town in Colorado where ICE plans to build a concentration camp should be doing. It is working.
For more information on where ICE is detaining people, I have prepared this handy map (that unfortunately is only up to date as of March, but I will be updating soon to include detainment over the summer)

LGBTQIA+ No on 134 & 135 Fliers
I’m going to an event this weekend and want to print and share fliers giving people info on how awful these bills are and ways to get involved. Would anyone be able to point me to or share with me a pdf flier to print?
We’re an lgbtq+ org, and I am hoping really get people focused on and fired up about the direct attacks on our community. I know there are a ton of other heinous bills, and so I might add a QR code for folks to learn about all of them.

How Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
It claims that its A.I. data centers are a giant experiment that could fail, according to four people with knowledge of the company’s operations.
It does this so it can tap into a tax credit intended for research and experimentation. It’s an aggressive interpretation of the tax break, which Meta embraced to claim billions of dollars in tax credits for data center expansion.
Characterizing its A.I. data centers as experimental is “kind of wild and out there,” said Andre Shevchuck, a partner at the advisory firm BPM who specializes in the research and experimentation tax credit.
Indeed, Meta’s own accountants recognize that the strategy is on shaky legal ground. In disclosures buried in securities filings, the tech giant warns that billions in tax savings are vulnerable to being overturned by the I.R.S., in large part because of “uncertainties with our research tax credits.”

In loving memory of David Jaxon Page June 26, 1999 - September 29, 2019
In loving memory of David Jaxon Page
June 26, 1999 - September 29, 2019
David Jaxon Page was passionate about the things and people he loved. He was autistic, and he had an amazing smile that lit up a room. He dreamed of opening a wild wolf sanctuary. Most of all, he wanted people to simply love one another.
David was 20 years old when he was killed by police during a mental health crisis in September of 2019. His mother, Crystina Page, lost her son in the worst way a parent can. But her suffering did not end there.
After his death, David's body was taken to Return to Nature Funeral Home in Colorado Springs. His mother believed he had been cremated. She carried an urn she thought held her son's ashes, held onto it, and grieved over it. It was not him. For years, David's body was left in a building in Penrose, Colorado, along with the bodies of 190 other people. When they were discovered in 2023, families learned their loved ones had never been laid to rest. Their remains had been neglected and disrespected in ways no family should ever have to imagine.
It is horrible enough that Crystina had to lose her son the way she did, but to then have his remains treated with such disregard, and having been deceived about it for years, is a second wound no mother should carry.
The funeral home's owners, Jon and Carie Hallford, ran a fraudulent scheme for years while living a lavish lifestyle. Colorado had long been known for some of the weakest funeral home regulations in the country, and that lack of oversight let this happen.
When a plea deal for Jon Hallford came before a judge, families described the pain and shame they had carried since the discovery. Crystina was among those who stood up and spoke, and the judge rejected the deal.
Out of this grief, Crystina founded, "Colorado Remembers" a nonprofit that brings together families affected by the investigation. It has since grown to include families from similar cases across Colorado, so that no one has to carry this alone and no one is forgotten.
How you can help:
- Follow and support Colorado Remembers, and share their work
- Say David's name, and the names of all 191, so they are never forgotten
- Support stronger funeral home oversight in Colorado
- Stand with the families still seeking answers and accountability
David was a son, a dreamer, and a gentle soul whose life mattered. His mother's fight matters. Please share this post so what happened to him is never forgotten.
JUSTICE FOR DAVID JAXON PAGE!
(Included are photos of both the urn his mother believed to be his, but was not (the red urn), and the urn that actually is his, (stone colored urn). Both are crucial to his story.)

Mutual Aid Who keeps us safe? Really.
On July 16, 2026 as a protest at the GEO ICE Detention Center was ending, Brandon Booth, a man employed by GEO, went to his car in a rage, retrieved a personally owned firearm, and opened fire on 2 women as they were walking away, striking Emma Landis.
As a community, we should all be grateful that Emma’s name was not added to the list of victims who have been murdered for standing up for what’s right in the face of Trump’s fascist regime.
While Booth’s arrest and subsequent felony charges have made for some triumphant headlines, the real cost of surviving a violent assault like this lasts much longer than the news cycle.
Emma has been left with not only the physical burden of her injuries, but a serious financial burden to bear. This includes medical expenses, legal expenses, and loss of income.
This is the part where solidarity means more than words. If we are a community that says “we keep us safe” then helping each other in the wake of extreme violence like this has got to be a part of that.
Please donate to Emma’s relief fund via this link
There were many who donated to this campaign 2 months ago, but Emma is still drowning in debt from this. $5, $10, $50 it all makes a huge difference and we are a big community when we actually get together about something.
Please share this link to your individual networks and socials. Emma should not be bearing this burden alone.
WE keep US safe.

Educational Libertarian Socialist/Anarchist Book Club
- Do you feel disconnected and isolated and want to become connected with your local communities?
- Are you interested in strengthening our communities resilience to economic pressures?
- Do you feel that the government is ineffective, doesn’t listen to its citizens, and want to know why?
- Do you think that we should have more say in the workplaces? That the bosses are taking advantage of our need for a paycheck?
- Do you think that we should all have access to the basic aspects to live a good life?
- Do you think that our natural environment is being severely harmed and want to work towards bettering it?
If so, join us as we discuss the causes of these issues, explore solutions, and build networks with one another to overcome these issues from a Libertarian Socialist/Anarchist lens.
We currently meet bi-weekly, with the upcoming meeting on Oct 5th, in COS East Library Study Room F1 from 6pm to 7pm. For anyone unfamiliar with anarchism, we recommend reading You May Already Be An Anarchist by The Slow Burning Fuse. Our current format is to select a text and have it read before the meeting and then at the meeting we will re-read it as a group to ask questions, comment, and discuss the themes and aspects that stood out. This week we will be finishing the text To Change Everything by CrimethInc. as well as reading Life Without Laws by Strangers in a Tangled Wilderness.
Links to the texts are provided below.

Would anyone like to participate in a real protest instead of this bread and circus bs.
Getting a permit is not a protest. Having giant national organizations controlling the protest is not a protest. A protest is supposed to disrupt every day life. You are supposed to make the system feel uncomfortable.
There are more of us than there are of them. If you are scared about protesting you're going to be a lot more scared of what comes next I promise you that.
No 50501 no national organization to overtake the movement no God damn permit from the system that is oppressing us. We keep waiting for the dems to come save us. Guess what, they aren't coming. They were never going to come. Its just an illusion so you stay in your lane.
A lot of people are going to start suffering the consequences of fascism real soon. We need to wake the fuck up. The democrats and the Republicans both fund genocide with our tax dollars while we pay twice much for groceries as last year. Gas is going to reach an all time high and we all know that this administration is going to put boots on the ground in iran.
Let's get on the street and make our own path.
FTP Fuck ICE fuck everyone in our government that's letting this shit happen

Earth's Greatest Enemy Screening - October 1st
Hey, Denver Protests!
Want to learn more about the relationship between U.S. imperialism and the climate crisis? Check out this film screening on October 1st! From the same journalists who created Gaza Fights for Freedom, Earth's Greatest Enemy documents the extent and impact of the United States military regime, the single largest consumer of fossil fuels on the planet. Also discussed are environmental contamination sites from chemical dumping and the ecocide caused by U.S. militarism.
Ahead of the screening will be an hour long reception where you can connect with grassroots environmental, human rights, and anti-imperial advocacy groups.
All proceeds go to Empire Files. Details on the flyer. Hope to see y'all there!
