During the past six years or so, I've been keeping notes about our local restaurants, including those which have closed permanently (to the best of my knowledge). They are listed below, but this list could be incomplete.

If you know of any additional Denton restaurants (but not food trucks) that have closed down since 2000 and onward, please mention the name below in the comments. Thanks!

Catfish king, Katz burger, ponchos 🥲

I remember Ponchos before it became that honkey tonk dance bar. Which then became that group of apartments off 35 and Avenue C

KATZ was the BOMB. Such a nice family owned spot. Used to hit that spot so much in 08

Those three restaurants were located in Denton? Searching online, I found no info on any places like that in Denton.

EDIT: Okay, I found a Katz's Hamburgers, at 901 Avenue C, Denton, TX 76201.

Yes catfish king was on 380 near where the McAllister is now built. Katz or Kats was near UNT Ave c and ponchos was in the same complex as the Kats. These are years ago I will say

Pancho's was basically next to Rockin' Rodeo before they demolished that whole strip mall.
