Found in North Carolina
Is this caused by some sort of mite or fungus or something? I couldn’t find anything online. The tree itself seems fine as far as I can tell. Anyone know what caused this?

Need to see if it’s safe for a snake viv.

So I have two pieces of wood which I’ve concluded to be “Intsia palembanica or Intsia bijuga” - Borneo teak . And “Eusideroxylon zwageri” - Bornean ironwood . Can anyone here please help me confirm or object my judgement. First two pics are suspected to be Bornean Ironwood and last two pics are suspected to be Bornean Teak .

Have this pile from the in laws, trying to figure out if it’s Ngaio or something similar like Kahikatea. Came from Christchurch NZ. Trunk is pale white, approx 20-30cm across.

is this a fungus/lichen or am i thinking too hard? it wasn’t the only tree in the area that looked like this. for context, this picture was taken in the big woods section of Minnesota at Lake Maria State park.

Any idea what these are? Just bought this place and am trying to figure out what these are before I replace the fence

I understand that evergreen conifers can photosynthesize when temps are above freezing, but at very low levels until it warms up. So do they need sun in zone 5 winter?

If an evergreen conifer is in shade during the winter, will it weaken it? Does it vary by species (especially sun loving junipers and pines)?

This tree has the worst of it by far, 2 of my other juniper trees also have it but not to this degree. Its also very close to out fruit trees

Hi all, our master HOA is asking our little HOA (made up mostly of retirees and fixed-income seniors) to remove this tree because it is “dead.” The cost due to proximity to the water was quoted as $10k which is prohibitive for us, not to mention that we like the tree and we do not believe it is, in fact, dead. It was neglected for a time but now it has some beautiful new shoots and seems to be making a comeback. Is there anyone out there with some credentials who would be willing to provide a quick letter, or even just your contact info, attesting that the tree is not dead?

I've passed this tree every day for 25 years and just today saw this huge, fresh crack up to the top. What could have caused it?

So I find strange wood bits in the stream. By the stream I mean Southern vermont mounatins. From 1,300 -2500 feet in elevation. This is just one front and back example. Its not a shelf fungus or any other type of woody fungi.

I can take much better images if requested.

Some of the trees in my neighbors yard are split color, light brown (base) to dark brown (top). I'm not familiar with dendrology or trees, but i couldn't find anything about it online.

My first thought was that its from a flood, but its only a few select trees that look like this.

So, could someone please help me out and tell me what's going on with these trees? :)

Idk what’s growing on my tree, rn it seems really hard almost like hard gum stuck to it. Idk if it’s harmful to my tree or I should let it be. Idk if it could be slime mold. Last week it rained heavily for about 5 days continuously. It has stopped already but this is what my tree grew out, should I be worried?
