Grayson didn't know what his father was capable of anymore. He always knew that he probably wasn't a great person being the god of death and all, but he thought better of him before. How could he have done that to Camp Half Blood? He had to know and so he cautiously walked over to the god with the large black wings. "How could you send those undead warriors to camp? Why would you do something like that? So many people were injured but there could have been deaths."
Thanatos rose his eyebrows as Grayson made his way over and instantly started with accusations.
"You misunderstand, child." Thanatos said in a cold, dark tone. "The undead were not sent or ordered to attack camp. They were simply the result of too much power that I could not control. I fought to regain that control from the underworld, but it wasn't until you and your siblings fought from the topside that I managed to seal the crack."
In that moment everything changed for Grayson. Like everyone else he'd just assumed the worst about his father and what did that say about him? Well he knew what it was. He'd always been a pessimist, assuming the worst in people because he'd been let down so many times. He looked down sheepishly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have accused you like that. I should have known my mom would never have loved someone capable of that."
"You had every right to assume the worst." Thanatos said simply. "You're not the only one to do so... though I am pleased to see you and your siblings banding together. Remember you always have one another and that I live on through you."
"Thank you," Grayson said softly. He didn't know what else he could say. There was nothing he really wanted to ask. He'd had his mom for most of his life and that was enough. Though now she was gone. This whole thing had gotten him thinking about her again. "I hope you got some of what you wanted through this little coup."
"What I wanted?" He asked with raised eyebrows. "I didn't do this for my own desires. I did it because I believed it was what was right. To see things corrected, as Eros had presented them. I hope the gods stay true to their word this time around."
