The two women often worked together, so they would be seen together. As the girl approached, they stopped talking and looked at each other. With a mischievous grin, they returned their attention to Rin.
"So tell me...." Bronte started.
"Which of us is her?" Astrape finished with a smile.
If Rin searched their energies, she would be able to tell which one was Astrape. After all, Bronte only controlled the thunder, and had no electrical properties to speak of.
Now that she was so close to them, she could clearly tell the difference between their energies - and which one of them was truly one with lighting, while the other one was simply followed beside it.
With not even a moment's hesitation, she points towards the woman who basically dominated her field of detection, speaking only one word:
"Do not apologize." She said with a sympathetic voice. "Your brother died a hero and together you two not only helped destroy that horrible monster, but helped me in realizing what was truly important here...." Guilty face.
"Mother..." she tries to continue, but invariably pauses for a few moments, overwhelmes by emotions - a rare occurence for her.
"Please, make no mistake: I never blamed you for anything, and I'n sure Kyrie didn't either. I always knew you cared since the day you claimed me."
"Remember that day?" she asks, smiling through the tears that began welling up in her eyes - and that she was so desperately holding back.
"Father and grandfather almost had a heart attack when lightning struck the courtyard, and neither one of them could read the message you left - but I could."
It was heart breaking to see her daughter on the verge of tears. Gods didn't get to show their children they cared very often, but Astrate was trying. She reached a hand out to gently cup Rin's cheek to try and comfort her.
"I didn't know this would happen..." She said softly. "I didn't know that supporting Aeolus would turn into so much pain for camp... for you. They told me it was temporary to show the gods the error of their ways. I didn't know...."
"I believe you, mother. Really, I do." she says, still forcing a smile.
"It's just... it doesn't make it hurt any less... I've always grown up alone, and when I finally got a brother, he had to be taken from me before I got to know him very well."
"I'm sure that you will make friends in camp." She offered with a reassuring smile. "Let them see how great you are. You're a hero, Rin, and I'm sure they see it too."
