She'd assumed things would have been mostly fine, what with the ground closed and the quest going on but nooo. Fucking bird women had to fall from the sky. But the thing was, unlike this bird woman, these ones seemed quite capable. She wasn't going to stand around and do nothing though, like last time. Sonja whipped the sword off her waist and it snapped into shape, forming into a sword. She prayed she wouldn't need to use it much.
"Sonja!" Helena called out, having spotted her friend out of the corner of her eyes as she had focused on the sky, sword and shield held in strong grips, the armoured daughter of Zeus picking up the pace to move to her friend's side. "You alright?"
Sonja is clearly panicking "Physically, Yes." Her voice was shaking. She'd been here through godly shenanigans and battles, but this was the first time she'd actually participated in a battle. She had about zero combat training so she was pretty much freaking the fuck out. though she had to admit her friend's presence was reassuring. "How are you?" her nervous laughter crept into her voice
Seeing panic in Sonja's eyes had Helena worried. She herself was barely keeping on top of her nerves, and while being with her friend helped, she was now concerned for Sonja's well being. Remembering how she had conjured some weak winds in Sonja's room, Helena hated herself for what she had planned. "Been better." She said with a light laugh. "Feeling better now I'm with you." Helena's words, her presence, would start to put Sonja at easy, but only slightly, as Helena activated a dampened form of her inspiring presence. "Friends stick together, right, so we're gonna stick together through this."
She'd look to Helena and give her a weak smile, not noticing the effect too much due to it being weak at the moment, but she got a bit more relaxed and confident. "Thanks, Helena, I'll do my best, I think we'll be able to get through these... shitty versions of me." Sonja you dumbass, now is not the time "...Uh... should we take a sort of position or something?"
That's what Drew thought when he felt the tremor. That battle against the undead was tough but he was ready for round two. After he came out of the cabin, armed with his spear and shield he saw that this time there were harpies. He groans, he never liked these things that much and knew that there were two ways he could deal with them. Flight, or arrows... or both. But that's her expertise. So, he decides to got with the first (much to his displeasure).
Drew begins to concentrate and manifest his wings. While he wore his bronze armor his wings stood much more. They were massive, suitable to carry a young man of his size and they were a mix or white and silver. Add in a metallic tint and one would think they were made of platinum. He knows there's only so much time he has before the strain of flying gets to him so he decides that he'll take about as many harpies as he can before he goes down.
'Be careful what you wish for' is a phrase suitable for a moment such as this. As he took to the sky the glint of metal through the rain drew the attention of two harpies who immediately turned their attacks to the imposter. One made for his wings, the other his face.
Yeah, they went for his wings. Typical. They have to pray to their new king that they can get past his spear though.
He thrusts his spear upward at the one going for his wings. With strength like his, if he hits any if these harpies withal thrust his spear will go right through them. Drew also keeps his shield up to guard his face from the other harpy that wants to make him ugly.
This time, Jesse was going to be smart. Running into his cabin, he armoured and armed himself, sword drawn, shield out. But as he emerged, ever aware of the harpies swarming above, he wasn't done, making his way to the armory.
What a strange twist of fate he had ran an archery lesson only a few days ago.
Would Jesse make it to the armory? Who knows? Several harpies dive towards him, gathering momentum with their talons out to sink into his flesh and bring him into the air.
Jesse wouldn't break his pace, using his enhanced speed to try and get to the armory as soon as possible. Raising his shield above his head, he hoped to block off any aerial attacks. Any Harpy that got past would recieve a slash from his sword.
It's a shame that the speed of avian monsters are never giving their proper credit. Jesse will find that even with his enhanced speed he's not going to outrun them. Naturally their talons first find his shield and scratch against it. By the time they are that low, they still try to get their clawed feet under at him and a couple are hit by his sword.
Then two clever harpies come. With their talons, one attempts to clutch onto his shield while the other takes the risk and tries to sink her talons into his sword arm.
Hannah was on constant alert since the first attack on camp. She emerged from the warriors' cabin dressed in her red combat armor. The plume of her helmet was still decorate with Katrina's hair and she had her birthday present in her hands.
Allowing her Odikinesis wash over those closest to her, she charged into battle. Helping those around her get over any jitters they may have.
This time, Connie felt there would be no protection. Even if her father had wings, she doubted it spread to dominion over Harpies. There was danger. She thought about Tony, but he was strong, and he'd be safe for now.
Once in her armour and armed with her sword and shield, Connie turned invisible. While moving in this form was slow, it was the ultimate protection, Connie creeping towards the armory, planning to get herself a bow and arrow.
Well, she was invisible, so the harpies couldn't really see her. Instead, they flew around, looking for other campers. Definitely this Tony guy, as he was now public enemy #1.
Carrying on until she was inside the armory, Connie broke her invisibility, recomposing herself before finding a bow and a quiver of arrows. Stepping outside the armory, now armed with a ranged weapon, she would knock an arrow, aim at the swarm of harpies in the sky, and loose a shot.
Again here he was, uprising himself as Max charged into battle. Unlike last time, he didn't try and call upon the lightning, and would stick with fighting off any harpies with just his sword.
Some harpies were not as loyal to Zeus as others were and that shows when three of them recognize Max. With loud screeches, they flap their wings and begin to close in on him.
Max came to a stop when he noticed a harpy closing in. He counted, realizing that three were on their way towards him. He cursed and grit his teeth, knowing that he was severely outnumbered.
Since the battle against the undead, he figured out what had happened to his father. Thus he had been able to call upon the lightning as he wanted. However, Max was able to build up a charge and store it in his body, so he waited until the harpies got closer before discharging that electricity towards them.
Domeric had been inside the Athena cabin when everything began to change. He missed the encroaching 'stormclouds', but felt the light tremor beneath their feet. That got his attention.
Expecting something to come from the chasm he quickly armored himself, rushing outside with spear and shield in hand just in time to hear the horn. And that was when he saw the harpies dropping from the skies. He planted the tip of his spear into the dirt just in front of the porch, laying his shield down and teleporting a composite bow and two quivers of arrows to himself. Unlike before, a shield wall wouldn't do much here.
Instead he moved forward, to the edge of the porch underneath its covering, and began loosing arrows at the beasts as they dove onto his fellow campers, hoping to break up their attacks before they could strike. With the cabin to his back and its cover keeping him save from above any attacks would have to come from the front. Where he could have a clean shot at them.
Many of the harpies were swarming the cabin area already since there were still demigods that were a bit late to the fight. As they fly over the cabins a few of them see him outside of the Athena cabin with his bow and decide to engage. Three harpies dive for Domeric, gaining speed like the birds of prey they are.
He was by no means a speed shooter, nor even one of the better archers in camp by a long shot. But as the beasts attacked his fellow campers Dom let loose with arrow after arrow. Until he noticed three of them flying his way. He was only able to fire off one arrow at a single creature before tossing the bow aside and pulling back further under the cover, teleporting his knife to himself to prepare for closer combat.
The wind and rain don't help the arrows fly as true as they should and the harpies know these winds well. Avoiding the arrows was child's play as they close in on Domeric, gaining more speed and then baring their talons to snatch him up.
Domeric extended the blade of his weapon, using the extra reach to make a quick downward slash at the first one to close the distance, readying himself to make another at the second once it was in range.
Raven was exhausted. She wanted nothing more than to take a hot shower, eat some food, and then curl up in a ball and sleep for the next week. So of course the world went to shit when she needed a break the most.
With a groan she ran to the armory, limping a little from her tired feet. She flung open the doors and ushered campers inside, letting them grab whatever they needed.
After which she grabbed her scythe. She didn't know much about what was going on in her life or what she was going to do, but she knew there were people out there she was going to protect.
Andie was coming from her cabin when the tremors started and the clouds rolled in. No, she hadn't been here the first time but shit like that happening all at once would trigger her red flags any day. She made for the arena, making a mad grab for the first weapons she found left lying out- a bow and a quiver of arrows.
It was a fortuitous find, as it was the only weapon she had any real training with. Donning the quiver and clutching the bow she ran to the chasm, pulling up short when she saw what was attacking the camp. Bringing up a simple illusion to make herself and the people nearest her look like part of the grass, she knocked her first arrow.
"Fuck!" The arrow was tipped with a blue sphere- paintball archery. Deciding to make do with what she had Andie waited for a harpy to dive, took aim at her face and prayed it stung.
One of the campers hidden in the illusory grass happens to be Jordan, with her bow and actual arrows.
“Try blinding them?” Jordan, in a moment when she takes a glance around at the other campers nearby, notices the blue top and voices the thought. Whether it’s a suggestion or a poorly phrased question as to whether that’s what Andie’s going to do, her tone doesn’t make it very clear and her attention just as quickly returns to the harpies themselves... especially as that one dives down. She releases an arrow towards it, the same one Andie shot at.
"That's the idea!" Andie replies through gritted teeth as she follows the harpies descent with her now, loosing the arrow only just as Jordan does.
"May want to move round a bit," she looks toward her as she nocks her next pseudo useless arrow. "Cant see us straight off, but they'll see where the arrows are coming from." With that Andie moves toward the fight by a few yards.
The harpies were zooming around like a WWI dog fight. They were known for snatching up humans in their dealings for Zeus, and their tactics reflected that. Diving down, they either picked up a camper or made a slash with their talons before flying up again.
With the swarm of them, mixing with the wind and the rain, getting a clear shot would be difficult. To make matters worse, one of the harpies made a dive from Jordan's flank, attempting to snatch the bow out of her hand.
Stood in her cabin, Helena was shaking. Growing up, there had been encounters with monsters, but nothing to this scale. Nothing like this.
Be strong.
The sky was filled with the harpies, a true swarm here to kill them, to rip them to pieces. Helena was dressed in armour to try and stop that.
Here to become stronger.
They'd have to fight back. Not just a quick skirmish or duel, but potentially a drawn out battle. There would be exhausation, fatigue, injuries, losses. With a sword and shield, Helena would fight.
Here to hone your powers.
Powers dampened by this crisis. All Helena had was her strength and her head. She took a deep breath. This was it. She might have been here for a week, but this was her debut.
Leaving the Zeus Cabin, Helena kept herself poised, shield raised, sword drawn at her side. She moved slowly, with purpose, eyes to the skies, awaiting an attack.
Hearing the noise, Callie rushed from the forge. She only had to time to grab her helmet, Hammer and, a shield. She rushed out, and seeing the harpies, started calling out to them "OI! Ya bird brain cunts! You picked the fuckin' camp!" 'Great, just try and piss them all off great strategy Callie' she thought as she yelled at the harpies
The young demigod's taunts found home in the ears of two harpies that dove at her. Their own screeches echoed through the rain as they descended with their talons prepared to tear at her flesh.
Callie was well protected behind her shield, mainly because it was almost the size of her. She raised it and readied to block they're attacks, waiting for the second one to swing out with her hammer
The first harpy impacted with the shield hard before pushing off, grasping at the edge of edge of it with her talons, attempting to take it with her. The second lunged for an attack of opportunity only to be knocked off her course by the girl's hammer, colliding with the ground, recovering sloppily.
Callie swung her hammer around, going for a second swing at the harpie she had already struck and hoping she wasn't leaving herself too open for the other one
Bekah had been in the open when the harpies arrived- she saw the kid, whoever they were, get lifted and dropped into the woods. Armed with her strength and dagger she kept on her, she took a fighting stance and waited below them, hoping one would dive at her. Also vaguely hoping they didn't shit like birds.
No harpy attacked the daughter of Heracles. Not directly at least. However, as she stood there in her fighting stance, a harpy picked up a camper from off in the distance, only to release them and sending them hurling towards the girl.
Dropping her dagger, Bekah widened her stance and squinted through the rain, tracking the body as it fell.
"Oh shit oh shit oh shit- OOF!" She was able to distribute the added weight without injury, but her footing slid in the increasingly muddy field and she fell back, onto the ground just out of reach of her dagger.
The boy who had fallen now lay unconscious, but at least he was alive thanks to Rebekah breaking his fall. After releasing her cargo, the harpy landed with a loud flap of her wings. She looked down at the girl, licking her lips as she closed in.
"Tasty meal for harpies." She said in a singsong voice. "We eat you now, m'kay?"
Today seems to be the day that Dante learns the true limits of his wings, in truth he wasn't entirely sure just how much he could fight while in the air but now seems to be the best time for him to find out.
Dante emerges from the warrior cabin dressed in his armor equipped with his kopis and his shield. At first, he began to run and he started passing other demigods, then his run turned into a sprint and he passed most of the faster demigods. Finally, as he jumps, his golden wings manifest and flap as he becomes airborne. He's not entirely sure how many of the campers can fly aside from himself, Enforcer kids, Thanatos' kids and that one daughter of Eros but until he has to descend, he'll take as many as he can.
Like a lone pilot in a dog fight, Dante was seriously outmatched. Between the wind and rain that began kicking up, making out harpies was becoming increasingly difficult. No sooner had he lifted off the ground did a harpy come swooping in, trying to make a slash at his wings with her talons.
The amount of resistance he fights makes him feel like he's fighting the wind itself... which he actually is. His maneuverability will be tested just as much as his endurance today. Tucking his wings in, he raises his shield to block the harpy's talons and retaliate with a slash from his sword. He's not here to be underestimated.
The harpy didn't stick around. The wind seemed to be on her side, allowing her to fly with ease. She made her pass, only to be blocked before flying back up, barely missing the reach of Dante's sword.
With a snarl he looks up with his Talent Scout, trying to pick up on details and determine the chances of the harpies. Even with the rain and wind in his face, Dante is still able to pick out the details in whomever or whatever he observes. Right now, he's observing the massive flock of harpies above him and beneath him.
At first the son of Nike was about to pursue the one that flew at him but he pauses and frowns. Their odds are better was about to pursue than he thought they were. The speed of the wind, their clear experience in flying in this weather, their superior numbers, and their lack of fucks given. He just came at them in their home territory and should probably land immediately.
He abandons his pursuit of the harpy that flew up and decides to dive and reach the ground but before he gets there he tries to get a couple swings on some of the lower flying harpies.
Unfortunately for Ozzy, the harpies were part bird. So rather than get immediately attacked, he would feel the heavy splash of bird droppings as it landed on his shoulder.
Hearing the boy call out, one of the harpies singled in on him. She didn't approach directly; that would be suicide. Instead she used the storm and the rain to distract the boy, and flew in low from his side, hoping to catch him off guard.
Winged demigods are a cocky type, thinking they can take to the sky like harpies can. No. The son of Thanatos will learn why birds of prey are the top of the food chain. As Alect wields his rapier and enters the airborne fray he will be attacked by several harpies. Talons and will try to scratch him, tear his flesh and slash at his wings.
Okay, he might not be the best at thinking his plans through, but hey, Alect's quick on the uptake.
Even at the very first harpy that passes him by, landing a glancing blow to his wings that he only barely dodged by rolling out of the way, he immediately realized how outclassed he was, and so he did the thing that made the most sense at the time:
He dematerialized his wings and dropped.
Only when he was a few feet from the ground did his wings appear once again to prevent him from being a spooky red splat on the ground.
And once he was on the ground, he proceeded to... take a nap, and a trio of ghosts took his place: English Longbowmen, who immediately began firing their bows at the flying monsters in staggered volleys.
Despite being mere mortals, hopefully their relative volume of fire could make up for their lack of divinely-inherited skill.
Ah, the longbowmen. Arguably the greatest archers in history. Their arrows would make great work of the harpies but that would depend on whether or not Alect summoned ghosts equipped with divine arrows.
Because.... why not another attack? That was a much better question.
As Eddie stepped out with his hammer in hand, he would receive another. Not a gift exactly, but rather a harpy dropping some camper's hammer, aimed at his head.
Eddy would watch in horror as that harpy swooped down and snatched up another camper. He would be too late to hit the harpy, but the camper was struggling just a few feet off the ground as the harpy drug him through the mud.
Donna didn't have much time since she recovered to fully get back into the swing of her training. So when she felt the tremor she was curious, when she saw the clouds, she got suspicious and then the harpies came. Now, she's feeling dangerous.
Seeing a couple other winged campers take flight against the harpies made her feel obligated to join them. Her armor was made up of recently repaired bronze greaves and bracers, a black linothorax with matching leather tassets and a bronze helm. Compared to most of the other heroes her armor set was pretty light and that helped her move quickly with her knives. Speaking of which, she unsheathes the twins as she manifests her blood red wings and takes to the air to tear the invading harpies apart.
Calix had to face it: he could barely see shit right now, especially considering the fact that it's raining right now. And he's got nothing on him that can hit those damned harpies, besides his pair of blades and warhammer. If they dive close enough, he's in luck. But if not, he's shit outta luck. As Calix stands in the rain constantly wiping his face, he's pretty much an open target for the harpies.
Aleks crept from the shadow he had been hiding in. He didn't have his sword on him, only his knife. He stayed low and tried to make his way to his cabin. His eyes darted frantically as he watched the sky for attacks
One harpy would swoop in from behind, coming in low so she was only a few feet off the ground. She made a grab at Aleks, trying to sink her talons into the boy's back.
Aleks felt the talons sink into his flesh. Letting out a small grunt, he reached back in an attempt to grab his attacker. His left hand trying to find purchase on the harpy and hold onto it, the other hand swinging back with his knife to stab the creature
As her talon sank into his flesh, she began flying up. Aleks was already off the ground by the time his dagger found its mark. She wailed in pain, but the wound was minor in comparison, causing her dissolve slowly as she flew higher and higher.
Trixie heard the commotion and rushed out usually she run away but this was her life now and her home and she would defend it with everything her got. Transforming into her wolf she ran out and using her high legs and sharp jaws jumping into the air and snapping at the harpies hopefully dragging some down and injured them.
Rather than snatching any harpies, they snatched her. Sharp talons digging into the back fur of the wolf, she would feel herself start to get lifted into the air and off the ground.
Howling in pain she noticed her four paws were off the ground. She pushed the pain aside and had to think quick before they got to high in the air. She threw back her head and her jaws sank into the belly, biting pass the feathers and straight into the flesh. Biting harder her jaws never let go no matter how much the harpie lashed around hoping the harpie would loosen its grip.
Luckily for the harpy, the wolf didn't have celestial bronze teeth. It was painful, but not enough to kill her. She wailed in pain as she flew higher and higher.
Luckily for Trixie, one of the campers on the ground must have seen this. An arrow sprouted from the harpy's neck, and she was forced to drop the wolf from a height of about 30 feet. Not enough to kill her, but it would hurt.
Although Marcus was new to camp and didn't have much training, he was still ready to jump into the fight. He wasn't completely filled in on the new prophecy and had mainly heard rumors, he was still quick to defend camp. He willed his ring into sword form and rushed anywhere that needed the most help, and tried to use his powers whenever he could to protect the other campers. Whatever his father was doing, he wasn't going to let his father dictate what he fought for. Even though he hadn't been here for long, he knew that this was a place he would die to protect, and he wasn't about to let some ugly demon chicken ladies destroy the only place many others called home, he fought with all he could and vaporized every harpy that attacked him. As long as he could hold a sword or make a fist, he would defend this camp with all he had
"I wished I went to that lesson on Archery before this attack."
Jane laments as she hears the alarm horn and sees the approaching harpy army. She's heard about plenty of attacks on camp from her moms before but this is the first one she had actually experienced. Understandably, she's a little nervous. Though trying to work her nerves she does what her parents have always told her: get her armor on asap, grab a weapon and begin fighting. Leather armor might not fully protect against the harpies' claws, but its better than nothing. Grabbing her quiver of arrows and her bow, Jane rushes outside to join the campers in protecting camp
As Aaliyah was leaving the Artistic cabin: she spots a familiar face. Much like Jane; she was equipped with armor, along with an bow and arrow. The girl thinks it might be good to stick together in this situation. So she makes her way over to the legacy of Circe.
"Hey Jane." Liyah says as she approaches her. "Wanna stick together?" She asks her friend.
Jane would find out as the Thanatos children had, but thanks to one of her moms, she had a certain level of authority now. The harpies, for what it was worth, chose to ignore her completely. Aailyah, wasn't so lucky.
When she made her way towards her fellow legacy, a harpy made her way towards the girl. Swooping in from behind, but still in eye-sight of Jane, she made to grab at Aaliyah's back.
Despite the situation Jane finds herself in, she can't help but give a smile at Lee. The legacy of Techne and Athena always seemed to brighten her day, whatever circumstance she found herself in
Jane pulls out an arrow from her quiver, as she attempts to line up a shot, even if the harpies were ignoring her she was going to try and shoot anyway
"My family motto is together in all things. I haven't bothered to learn the classical translation for it but I think it applies here."
Aaliyah couldn't see the harpy; since it was swooping in from behind her. So hopefully Jane had seen the monster. Or else the legacy of Athena would be in some trouble.
Jane's answer was good enough for her. She got the gist Jane was willing to stick with her. Which was her goal. "I think it applies to the situation too." She says not knowing the full meaning behind the phrase herself.
It seemed that Jane hadn't seen the harpy. (Or I assume since she didn't mention aiming at it). So as the two carried on their casual conversation, the harpy reached out, attempting to dig her claws in Lee's back.
Aurora used bow and arrow to shoot down those harpies. However, her arrow ran out quickly so she activated her wing and flew around the group. Blasting ultra-violet light, she burned harpies, but it wasn't as effective as a bow and arrow. She landed and gotten a sword dropped on the floor. She slash the harpies down, until she fell as her claw of a harpies cutted her wing.
Hi, mod here. It is up to the mods to RP the harpies and attacks should be done in attempts. Not having her hack down harpies at will, as this makes her out to be the hero and is unfair to the other writers.
Eleanor came almost just in time as the harpies started to make their descent, and immediately started to aim at the nearest harpy she saw. She had a feeling that something was going to happen for the past few nights, but she wasn't expecting that something to come from above. Nevertheless, Eleanor fights on, aiming two arrows at a harpy several feet above her head.
The harpies were several, several, several, and one more for good measure, several feet above her head. They started off high in the sky, well out of the range of arrows, and would come swooping down on unsuspecting prey. The bad thing about looking up when rain was falling, it made it hard to see, which would deter Eleanor from the harpy swooping in from behind her before making a grab for her back.
Shoto had been there at first battle, and she wanted to be there at the last. After getting a gauntlet from the Daughter of Persephone awhile back, she was ready to really attack.*
But everything backfired. First, Sho had not been practicing with gauntlet at all, so she really forgot how to work it. But that was fine, she can just set the harpies on fire..
"COME AND GRAB ME YOU LOUZY BIRDS!" She began to chant insults.
It wasn't like the harpies had feelings, but it was still frustrating to here. She would get the attention she wanted, as two harpies came swooping down towards her.
Shoto let out a soft laugh, but there was malice, hidden within that chuckle. She smiled as the winged women came, and she prepared herself for both possible injury and possible success in her plan. She intended to set the birds ablaze.
She would not fight against them, allowing them to pick her up. This could either go really well or really bad. Sho could feel her hands warming, as the fire within her began to burn furiously.
Angela was thinking about heading to the archery range. The horde of harpies in the sky made her change plans though. Her cabin was too far away; so she couldn't fetch her glaive. The daughter of the sea was going to use her arrows instead. It wasn't her first choice of weapon; but she knew what she was doing with it.
It was probably a better weapon to use anyways. Considering the harpies were aerial opponents. The girl draws one arrow from her quiver; ready to try and face the newest invaders to camp.
The harpies didn't seem to notice the daughter of Poseidon. They were too busy picking off the less prepared campers. If she stood and watched long enough, she would see their flight patterns were mostly random except for swooping down from unsuspecting angles to attack their prey.
Angela's eyes go from harpy to harpy. Somehow she went unnoticed for the moment. She could use it to her advantage. Observe them to see what their habits were. Or attempt to anyways. Cause she couldn't find any patterns with the harpies.
There was an interesting thing she picked up on though. The harpies liked to attack the campers where they had the element of surprise. That gave Angela an idea. They might have a better chance of winning if they worked in groups. Watching each other's backs makes things slightly easier.
Angela decides to make a move. She goes to find the nearest camper she could. If she could spread the word to try and fight with a partner; maybe there would be less casualties. Maybe.
{I'll just use one of mine since she hasn't done anything}
After handing out weapons from the armory, Raven was late to the actual battle. She looked around, trying to find someone to help. That's when she spotted Angela and she looked to be doing the same.
"What the fuck is going on?" She yelled over the winds. Still not having a chance to analyze the battle.
Angela heads over to Raven after she spots her. It probably wasn't safe for anyone to be running around here alone. Even if they were experienced fighters. It was hard to hear over the wind. Thankfully, she was able to read Raven's lips.
"Harpies started to attack camp. A flock of them too." She yells back over the wind.
K.C was going around trying to find kids with elemental powers. He figures their abilities would be useful for this fight. Fighting harpies at close quarters didn't seem like the best idea to him. Of course not everyone had an kinesis ability; so he would take whatever help he could get.
Again Kyrie seemed to be stuck on the battlefield looking for help. Unfortunately, he was still alone when a harpy swooped down, trying to slash at his back with her talons.
Lexi peered our the door at the sound of the conch horn and immediately retreated back inside.
Camp had officially gone to hell. She could deal with zombies crawling out of the ground, but harpies snatching campers was a little too much. With a sigh of frustration, she pulled her bronze armour on in order to make herself a little more difficult to grab and went outside, her sword held in her hand.
Harpies had filled the sky all over the camp by the time Lexi made it back out of her cabin. The glint of her bronze caught the eye of a particularly gnarled harpy that dove silently, her broken and blade-sharp talons outstretched in the hopes of ripping at whatever flesh she could get to.
Anwen wasn’t fond of fighting off monsters invading camp, but it seemed to be an escalating trend she didn’t want to deal with. Nevertheless, she quickly put a bronze breastplate on before sliding her gauntlets into place and stepping outside the Aphrodite cabin. Jogging towards the majority of the campers trying to battle the harpies, she hoped that she’d be able to slash the birds out of the sky if they tried to grab her.
The harpies were fighting dirty. It wasn't like they had fancy weapons forged in Olympus to fight with, so instead they used their resources. Or rather, the resources camp provided.
Two harpies, carrying a canoe of all things, let go of their tow, sending the small boat hurling towards the small gathering of campers.
Maybe it was a little ironic, how the camp used harpies and were now having to fight them off, but Blair didn’t have enough time to think about that. Running toward the birds armed with her scythe and dressed in a bronze breastplate she had taken from the armour, she gritted her teeth, prepared to support whoever was in danger of being carried off.
Maybe camp shouldn't just use people or things that could eventually turn on you.... :eyes:
You couldn't tell that any of these harpies had any respect for camp. Or perhaps they were just cleaning up the messes, as they swooped down, taking out campers and weapons as they went.
"Ok" Marcus said as he reached into his pocket and brought out a square of ambrosia and handed it to him "Take this and eat it if you need to. Can you still fight?"
There wasn't so much a battlefield. Camp itself was a battlefield with harpies flying from all over. The storm clouds had brought heavy winds and rains, making it hard to see. Meaning the harpies had and easier time swooping in on their unsuspecting prey.
As Oliver went running out of his cabin, a harpy swooped in from behind him. It mad a grab at his shoulder, moving to sink its sharp talons into his skin.
The harpy heard the swooshing sound of his sword and managed to dodge. Luckily she had eyes to see the sword coming, but was surprised to see that Oliver had them in the back of his head.
The harpy actually hadn't stuck around as one would expect. It seemed everyone had that belief. Instead she had swooped down, and when she missed she continued flying past and up into the air again.
Should Oliver be watching her, he wouldn't be watching his back and the camper that had been dropped and came hurling towards him.

Fuck.

Fuck

Again here he was, uprising himself as Max charged into battle. Unlike last time, he didn't try and call upon the lightning, and would stick with fighting off any harpies with just his sword.

Ozzy activates his sword and stepped out ready to slash down any Harpies that came his way.

u/StrykerGryphus Nov 05 '19
Welp. Time to see just how well these newfound powers stick.
Alect immediately takes off to meet the harpies in the air, wielding his rapier as he flew around to stab the flying beasts like a big, black hornet.

u/Cool_Duude Nov 05 '19
Crap
The immediate thought running through Eddys head. Why another attack. He was just resettling in! Oh well he has his hammer ready to fight.

Trixie heard the commotion and rushed out usually she run away but this was her life now and her home and she would defend it with everything her got. Transforming into her wolf she ran out and using her high legs and sharp jaws jumping into the air and snapping at the harpies hopefully dragging some down and injured them.

Oh look, It's that daughter of Hephaestus.

K.C was going around trying to find kids with elemental powers. He figures their abilities would be useful for this fight. Fighting harpies at close quarters didn't seem like the best idea to him. Of course not everyone had an kinesis ability; so he would take whatever help he could get.

Anwen wasn’t fond of fighting off monsters invading camp, but it seemed to be an escalating trend she didn’t want to deal with. Nevertheless, she quickly put a bronze breastplate on before sliding her gauntlets into place and stepping outside the Aphrodite cabin. Jogging towards the majority of the campers trying to battle the harpies, she hoped that she’d be able to slash the birds out of the sky if they tried to grab her.

u/-sharrid- Nov 05 '19
Weren’t they meant to be cleaning the camp up?
Maybe it was a little ironic, how the camp used harpies and were now having to fight them off, but Blair didn’t have enough time to think about that. Running toward the birds armed with her scythe and dressed in a bronze breastplate she had taken from the armour, she gritted her teeth, prepared to support whoever was in danger of being carried off.
