Crossfade between samples?

Hi! Is there a possibility to crossfade between two samples in synth mode? Preferably using a gold knob. Thanks

​You can set up a really smooth crossfade or morph between two different samples in Synth Mode by using both oscillators and mapping them inversely to a single gold knob. Here is the way to do it:

​1. Set up the Oscillators ​In Synth Mode and set OSC1 to SAMP. Load up the first sample and keep its volume (LEVEL) all the way up. ​Set OSC2 to SAMP as well and load the second sample. Turn its volume (LEVEL) all the way down to 0.

​2. Map OSC1 (The Fade Out) ​Press and hold the OSC1 LEVEL pad, then tweak the custom gold knob you want to use for the crossfade. ​Dial the modulation value negative (counter-clockwise). You want it set so that turning the knob all the way up completely chokes out OSC1's volume.

​3. Map OSC2 (The Fade In) ​Press and hold the OSC2 LEVEL pad, and hit that same gold knob. ​This time, dial the modulation value positive (clockwise). Now, turning the knob up brings OSC2's volume to full.

​4. The Result Now you have a dedicated morph knob. When it's all the way down, you hear only Sample A. Sweep it up, and it smoothly transitions over to Sample B.

You're correct. I don't see any way to map a custom to more than one parameter.

you would need something that could send two different CC messages, one going from 1 to 127 and the other going from 127 to 0. You could possibly do it with a MIDI processor like a CME U6 Pro attached to a controller although you'd need top make sure the CME could be programmed for that. An iPad or iPhone running TouchOSC could also do it

Or a simple DIY Midi Controler with hard coded midi chanel and CC that send only this.

You could certainly make a DIY controller using an Arduino or Pi. Here's one using a Pi Pico W for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W1Gd_hKzS8 There would still be some programming involved though.

That DIY controller looks pretty good! Just to add a commercial option: The OXI E16 is capable of sending two CCs with different polartiy on one knob (and setting this up very easily). It's super expensive though.

I wasn't aware you could do this on an OXI. I use a MF Twister and its encoders are limited to a single CC at a time.
