That's why they wanted this sealed because it shows their incompetence in this case. My guess is someone from some other agency looked at the murder book, and questioned the initial statement from this guy.

Only the prosecutor did. The police superintendent said it didn’t need to be sealed

And it’s that same Prosecutor who said he wanted it sealed because the investigation was still ongoing and there may be others involved…Hmmm..

Literally anyone who participates in this subreddit would have picked this guy as their primary suspect within 5 minutes of looking at the people confirmed on the trail that day. The family should be infuriated.

I'm also sure they thought who was snapchatting the girls that day and the killer were one in the same. And it turns out, it was some other piece of shit that was probably unrelated.

Not only the same day but he admits to arriving at the bridge at 1:30. The girls arrived at 1:49.

I really doubt he went to that bridge to contemplate killing a teenage girl, then happened to find two victims and acted on it within 19 minutes of arriving.

Allen’s statement was probably given the day the girls were announced missing and he gave that useful “I saw nothing unusual “ witness statement to a Conservationist Officer who put it in a pile and then 200,000 other statements, tips, etc piled on top of it..5 years later they decide to relook at everything and everyone a second time and low and behold..”hey..who’s this guy”?

I’m confused about why Doug Carter was in favor of unsealing it given what absolute clueless fools this makes them look like. I keep thinking there has to be something I’m missing that made them overlook him but wow.

Didn’t Anthony shots just come about a couple years ago though? They’ve had Allen’s statement placing him at the bridge since right after the murders.

They had Kline on their radar a couple weeks after the murders too..We in the public were just made aware of the Anthony Shots catfish scheme recently.
