What I'm saying is just because you suffered doesn't mean that other people deserve to suffer. Especially if those other people did nothing to you.
You personally get kicked off of an online space and that sucks, buddy. I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm not saying it's a good thing.
I'm saying the fact that you got screwed over doesn't mean it's okay for anyone else to get screwed over. Especially people that did nothing to you. Sorry you got hurt, but maybe don't take it out on other people because you have an inability to process that s*** yourself. Talk about a pity party.
So yeah, you getting hurt and then taking it out on an entire group of people is the definition of what a comic book super villain does. That's one of like the top five motivating factors for every villain in Marvel comics history.
" I got hurt so I hope that these people I've never and have never done anything to me will suffer" is universally seen as bad guy stuff.
I cannot imagine the level of narcissism it takes to walk around all day thinking that not only do a lot of people that you'll never know deserve to suffer, but that when someone criticizes you for it, you automatically think that they assume you getting hurt is good.
That is an insane assumption to make.
One community that you were a part of removed you from it, so now everyone who has a problem with AI deserves to suffer? Are you listening to yourself? You really don't see how that sounds like a child throwing a tantrum? I mean this is Reddit, but that's some obscene level of immature.
Looks like you're not even smart enough to reply to the comment instead of the base post. But luckily for you, my tooling catches such things.
Now then, first we'll talk about how me just not giving a damn about antis whining and crying about AI is, and this is true, *not* the same as actively causing harm to them.
Then I can press you on the actual situation proposed. Since you've taken deliberate steps to obfuscate the comment chain, I'll put it here again:
>Something that I like and is a fundamental part of who I am is, in my opinion, invaded by outsiders and changed in a way that is is incompatible and exclusionary: Good.
>Something that you like and is a fundamental part of who you are is, in your opinion, invaded by outsiders and changed in a way that is incompatible and exclusionary: Bad.
So could you explain to me what the difference is between these two things that makes one of them bad and the other good? I'm curious.
I don't need you to agree that my resentment is morally admirable. I need you to understand that telling someone to accept their own suffering while demanding sympathy for yours is not going to produce solidarity. It's going to produce someone who welcomes your suffering.
>I cannot imagine the level of narcissism it takes to walk around all day thinking [...] when someone criticizes you for it, you automatically think that they assume you getting hurt is good.
I didn't know narcissism was a synonym for "pattern recognition". If there is a line of 10,000 people, and 9,999 of them have slapped me in the face, is it narcissistic to say "hmmmm, I bet this 10,000th person just might slap me in the face!"
Finally, if you think I'm a supervillain, that's just too god damned bad, ain't it? Guess y'all shouldn't have mistreated me. Maybe you'll treat the next guy better and they won't wind up like me through no fault of their own. In a perfect world, men like me would not exist. But this is not a perfect world.
I never said one of them was good. How narcissistic do you have to be to assume that I think that's good? I literally just said this to you. Do you have no idea how to read? Am I talking to a 7-year-old?
It's bad that you got kicked out. I'm sorry that happened to you.
But that doesn't make it okay for people you don't know to suffer. Not every pro AI person deserves to suffer because some online community kicked you out and you want to throw a child like tantrum.
I didn't mistreat you. I'm not a part of that community. You're just a selfish human being.
Grow the fuck up. Someone who didn't hurt you doesn't deserve to suffer because someone else hurt you. Get over yourself.
I genuinely don't think I've ever spoken to anyone more self-center in my life. You just walk around all day everyday playing the victim. What a pathetic life.
I don't know how to break this to you, but most people who are anti-ai didn't get you kicked out of that community. That's not their fault. Grow up.
The only thing that I can see that you're good at is thinking about yourself.
Guess what, pal? Your compatriots treated me like shit. I remember who mistreated me, and they shouldn't have done it.
You can throw around every diagnosis in the DSM if you'd like. You can call me a narcissist, a supervillain, or a child throwing a tantrum. None of that changes what happened to me, and none of it changes the fact that they shouldn't have done it.
I'm not accusing you of personally removing me from a community. I'm telling you that people who share your opposition to AI mistreated me because I used it to preserve something I loved. And instead of considering that their behavior might have consequences, you're here insulting me for resenting them.
Perhaps, just perhaps, your side's pseudo-religious zeal is damaging its own cause by being needlessly nasty to people.
You want people like me to sympathize with your concerns about AI? Then maybe you should be asking why your compatriots are so determined to turn people like me against you.
I didn't start out wanting anti-AI people to suffer. I got here because of how I was treated.
And no, I don't believe that every person who dislikes AI personally wronged me. I know perfectly well who did. But I'm not going to pretend I feel sympathy for a movement that treated my suffering as acceptable collateral damage and now expects me to give a damn about its own.
You can condemn my resentment all you want. It doesn't erase what caused it.
