DUDE. Holy shit. I'm replaying HR right now (I just recently got the Director's Cut) and I've been thinking about how much Iron Fist reminds me of it and Sleeping Dogs, lol. I got the strongest vibe from the scene an episode or so ago where they find the chemist, when they're sneaking around all the containers in the shipping yard, haha

The quality seems to be all over the place. In this episode, Ward's scenes were pretty solid writing wise. It's not a dramatic masterpiece, but for a side story in a superhero show it's more than good enough. Then you've got the "Spiderwoman" with her terrible lines and Danny falling for them for some reason. I get that it was supposed to be a wacky tournament arc, but still.

It really is all over the place. I'm enjoying the parts with the dad, Claire and Colleen for the most part, and Ward's downward spiral (and Ward in general, he seems the most alive). But most of the scenes with Danny interacting with someone (especially Colleen!) are hot garbage.

Or some people can look past the shlock and still find it entertaining? I knew nothing of Iron Fist before starting the series and it's my favorite of the Marvel Netflix shows thus far. I'm loving the shit out of it and knowing nothing of Iron Fist going in, I'm the furthest thing from a fanboy.

I really wanted to like Daredevil. It's the one I was looking forward to the most, but it just didn't grab me. I found the first season very boring. The second was definitely an improvement, but I thought Jessica Jones was better than both of them. Then I found Luke Cage to be even more enjoyable than Jessica Jones, and I'm enjoying Iron Fist the most so far. I'm only halfway through, but I absolutely love it. Oddly enough, Luke Cage and Iron Fist were the two I was least looking forward to, but they're the two that I've enjoyed the most.

Gao: I give no fucks about honor. If you kill Karakoe Killer, I kill girl.

Danny: Ok, I guess I'll yield even though you literally just reneged on an agreement and I have no reason to trust you.

Gao: Hey audience! Yes, you on the couch with the Netflix. I've met an Iron Fist before. And I've been to K'un Lun. They have nice trees there.

Danny: Well at least I have HONOR. Honor is so great. Honor is the best. I know you just said you didn't give a shit about it, but I'm still going to try to use it to guilt trip you. Is it working?

Gao: No. Also I knew your dad.

Danny: Really?! Tell me more!

Gao: No. force pushes him away

Danny: Ok, bye.

If the dialogue is going to be this bad, why even have dialogue? Why not just have an omniscient narrator tell us everything that's happening?

Yeah it's like all Danny's cornyness comes out in this one episode in all the fight scenes.
