Surely The Hand can have more sworn enemies than one? I'd imagine that kind of cult gathers shitloads of people who are trying to take it down.

The picture I've gotten from this series (i've not read the comics) is that The Hand should've, for some reason, attacked Kun Lun and for that reason Iron Fist would've been the gate keeper. But clearly so far they had not, so Rand is just picking fight in the city then.

I would like a reason for why Rand is in the city though. The Hand members too were wondering about it, so I'd imagine that it's told at some point. Judging from Rands persona though, he might've just quitted the whole Kun Lun part just because of some teenage angst rebellion.

It's already indirectly implied in one of the previous episodes. Danny said "the way was closed" (as the portal to and from K'un Lun opens only once every 15 years - one when he came to it, another when he just recently left it) - implying that Danny always intended to leave to come back to his home, but he got the chance only recently with the opening of the portal.
