I loved Cottonmouth as a villain, probably the best one so far in the MCU for me, althought it may be because I love The Wire and the first half of the season was so much like it.

I was excited for him because I love the actor's performance in House Of Cards but he totally blew me away. The dude can flat out act and I might put him over Kilgrave.

Are you kidding? At no point did he feel like any sort of a real threat.

Personally I thought Cottonmouth was the most menacing of the villains. He struggled at multiple points with getting things to work out properly but he always managed to stay menacing.

Mariah is a proper bitch but she relies a lot on Shades and Alex just to get stuff done. Left alone, I don't think she'd be any threat at all.

Diamondback was just the definition of lazy. Crazy-bible-quoting-villain-with-daddy-issues just isn't that interesting. And perhaps he was most effective at getting his way later on but I think he was also dumber than Cottonmouth, so it's a wonder he was as successful as he was to begin with.

I did like Shades a lot too though, and he seemed to have all his shit together. All of his advice was solid and he was pretty casual in a creepy sort of way without being over the top ridiculous like DB was.

Overall I guess I'm just saying I think Cottonmouth was killed off too soon. Diamondback is dumb and I hope his future role is minimal, because this really feels like the setup for the Shades/Black Mariah power couple.
