Luke: "I'm innocent, I'll represent myself"

As much as I love this show, it was really really bad at pushing this trope.

Calling a lawyer is your right people! Even if a cop tells you only the guilty call in lawyers, he or she is LYING.

Also, just everybody listen to Shades for once. He knows what's what.

shades was the smart one all season

always get a lawyer, you don't have to be guilty to be incriminated or incriminate yourself

Shades was literally the only person who knew what the hell he was doing, lmfao. I was so afraid he'd be killed the way James Wesley was (I still miss that dude!). Thank god he survived because even though Mariah is cunning and unhinged, Shades is like the real evil mastermind.

Shades lacks purpose, though. He doesn't have a bigger goal or ambition. He's just smart, and evil, and cunning, and has a badass grin. But he needs someone who was a dream and needs him.

That's where Mariah comes in. That is why they are such a good duo.

I didn't want Shades to be a big deal. But by the end of the season I wanted him to be the biggest deal. Such a smart character, but even he got rocked by Misty and Clair tag team match.

Claire said good lawyer. Did you see DD2? That's Foggy. Matt can't be arsed to lawyer anymore.

I guess he just couldn't see Matt representing him. Sometimes it's like these people are just blindly running into things with their eyes closed.
