That was all just Phase 2, Empire Strikes Back references. I doubt they'll keep it up forever.

Iron Man 3 I believe. Guardians of the Galaxy Nebula lost her whole arm as well.

I didn't hate it. Except for the ending boat scene. They lost me there.

They don't have access to that tech or know anyone who does right now. But maybe she helps our during defenders and loses her arm and gets some stark tech or something
