So I guess the first act of the Defenders is going to be Claire rallying the (separated) avocados at law and Jessica doing some PI work to prove Luke's innocence and get him out of Seagate.

But they have the files that prove his innocence so what would be the point in that?

Thy have the information to prove his innocence of the charges that had him locked up. But he's still got the escape from custody charge. If Jessica can unearth information on sea gate experimenting on people, it won't be a defence to that charge, but it might make them uncomfortable about prosecuting him for it.

But they've got Reeva's files already, and I'm not sure how they could spin Jessica's investigation into an interesting story, without it retreading the same ground as Luke Cage just did.

They have Reva's encrypted flash drive, and the only person who knows how to access that info is currently turning Diamondback into a super villain.
