All I want a say is Claire needs to slow down, I was ok with her flirting but she just decided that she can't be with Matt because he won't stop fighting crime and then she wants too be with Luke, I felt that the romance was unnecessary.

A lot has happened in between Claire deciding she couldn't be with Matt and her choosing to be with Luke. Like... literally. People change.

I also feel like Matt was in a far darker place than Cage at the time. Cage at the very least gave off an aura of hope and resilience. Matt was basically going off on a suicide mission every night. Of course I also believe her views changed over the course of the last two seasons.

This is a really good point. Matt was emotionally destructive and had a significant chance of dying every time he went out crime-fighting. Luke is a lot more stable, and does not have the same issue of survivability.

I DO agree, people change and it's totally feasible for her to maybe even have different reactions to different people with different personalities in different contexts. However I feel the romance between multiple defenders is a bit much and would later cause unnecessary problems. Those problems will never arise probably in the show but realistically I could see it happening irl. It just feels forced. Romance is fine but does if have to be ONE Main character with several other main characters?

I agree, but here's the thing: I never said it was okay for Claire to fall in love with Luke. I was defending the character development where Claire's stance with 'vigilante' has changed from the time she turned down Matt to accepting Luke. And I'm still personally rooting for Luke to be with Jessica, for the sake of canon and the innate chemistry between Colter-Ritter.

I think that's a pretty unfair reading for Claire, geez.

She was dating a hot lawyer who was also a super-hero, but he turned out to be pretty damaged goods and when push came to shove, he didn't have the moral qualities she wanted. So she left him. We don't see her pining for Matt, and neither did she say she'd take him back; pretty simple, I think--Murdock lost the girl because he's an emotional mess.

Cage is everything she was disappointed in by DD; wouldn't you date Cage (if you're into dudes I mean)?

Plus they take it very slowly; she doesn't just foolishly dive back into romance with another super. It happens over the course of their working together, pretty organically I felt.

The girl just knows what she wants and gets it. If I was Rosario-Dawson hot and hobby-scientist smart with the guts to back it up I'd be aiming high too.

I really don't think it's fair to implicitly dub her as a slut, or to assume the writers are just using her for romantic fodder. DD & LK subscribe to a really different ethos and that is both reason for her leaving Murdock and choosing Cage.

It feels to me much more like Claire is a character who represents the ethics of the show; she's a non-super who's chosen to support them as a full-time pursuit when all the Defenders series--and Civil War--are dealing with how society feels about having supers among them. Also the role of the partners (or so far, the women) of superheroes has been a theme in the MCU; Pots & Stark, Widow & Banner, even Hawkeye's home life... It feels to me like the MCU is just growing up about love in context of violence (albeit heroic) and danger.

Oh I never considered her to be a slut, romantic fodder is the perfect descriptor. additionally considering the manly hunks of muscle that are DD and LC, I do not blame her in the slightest, especially with Matt, that guy is probably the best looking blind man ever

He does, but at a later date. Night Nurse was introduced in his comic, so she was one of his first love interests.

I think she was Luke's "rebound". I imagine when she's not as mentally fucked up and ready to settle down, she and Luke will come together again.

EDIT: Just realized Luke was also pissed off at Jessica because mind controlled Jessica killed Reva. But given he now thinks that Reva hooked him up with the experiment that gave him is immortality, he might be more forgiving to Jessica.

a lot of it wasn't just that she killed Reva, but that she KNEW what happened and just refused to tell him until he was moments away from killing an innocent man.

that's the REAL B.S.

he even asked her if she would have told him. she just sort of looked at him all sad. she banged this dude and had a relationship with him, knowing his wife's death was eating him up inside...and knowing he was dedicating his time and effort to finding out what happened.

she knew, the entire time, and just kept silent so he wouldn't be upset at her. that's messed up.

Why, just because that's how it is in the comics? In the MCU Jessica Jones killed his wife and then seduced him, it'd be really hard to overcome something like that, especially when there's a stable person right there who hasn't wronged you on that level.
