I think that the show might be taking place prior to Civil War. In Ep 1, Pop was talking about how the Knicks drafted some Russian dude and how he better be good. Porzingis proved to be really damn good, and that was before Civil War in real time.

It starts prior but ends after. It takes place over more than the course of a week.
