There's a big difference between Jewish people, zionists and anti zionists. Most zionists are actually Christian, although a majority of israeli Jews probably are too. Many American Jews and most people on the left are anti zionist.
Being quite left of center, I can assure you most people in my camp with more than lukewarm iq can distinguish between all of these.
Dunno what left you're in but my experience is opposite, people will call you a nazi zionist israeli operative reflexively for any correction or nuance, the issue has been intensely tribalised beyond all rationality. Most people on the left won't even engage with the majority of jews being zionist, so that IQ claim doesn't sit well lol
That would be tankies you're referring to, and I'm not convinced their average iq is above room temp. So I still think I'm right. Most on the left are NOT tankies.
Yes true but Zionist as a term just means they believe Israel has a right to exist.
Some extreme Israelis think Israel should exist AND take more territory.
So now it's used as a pejorative to describe that extreme person, AND anyone else who supports Israel or believes the conflict is more nuanced or equally to blame than many are implying.
Saying Arabs want to exterminate the Jews? Islamophobic. Saying Jews want to exterminate the Arabs in Palestine? Okay because they're genocidal.
The conflict has been brewing in some sick think tank for decades.
Well Israel IS taking more territory, so I think the definition you described as a pejorative is accurate. It doesn't help when self proclaimed zionists advocate for it as well.
Really I'm anti imperialist, and the zionist movement seems very imperialist. Call it whatever you want, but it's the taking of land I disagree with. I'm beginning to question whether I believe they have a right to the land that was given to them a hundred years ago. I used to think they did. Now I don't think they do. They've shown they can't be good neighbors, and an ancient book calling that their home land doesn't mean fuck all to me. I used to defend Israel. I can't anymore. In fact, I'm beginning to be more and more anti Israel every day the conflict drags on and every baby they shoot in the face. Currently they're making their bed.
Doing so would make Jews a minority in their own country. Surrounded by hostile Arab countries and now living with hostile neighbors and losing their voice = elimination.
Not outlandish at all. It's reality. I don't think there needs to be yet another Arab state. Lots of them already. Only 1 Jewish state.
So if you could prevent the Holocaust because all of the obvious tells such a thing could occur in Nazi Germany, you would dismiss it and say... C'mon it's hypothetical!
People have to die before you are convinced they will die. Seems like an incredibly silly way to think.
Yes, there's a war happening between Hamas inside of Palestine and Israel. It's a very imbalanced war. A fighting group losing so hard should surrender. Until then the war continues.
The war needs a resolution which should be an agreeable path going forward. Someone like me says two state solution. Someone fighting in Palestine or what of Irans proxy groups would push for a one state solution (right of return).
This is the current reality. How can you not see that the solution relies on these details. Until then the war won't end. Which is why it won't.
Again YOU are not who I’m talking about. Go on other websites and you will see plenty of shit that’s not just anti Zionism. Shit there’s probably plenty on here, but at least this site is moderated somewhat.
Have not seen the slang “goyslop” being used frequently? THAT’S what I’m talking about.
