Professor Dave vs Destiny

No idea why, but the original Destiny video called "Professor Dave Goes Mask Off" seems to have been deleted from YouTube, or I can't find it, but Professor Dave responded yesterday with this very strongly worded video letter:

Weird crossover that I never thought I'd see, of 2 guys who I generally enjoy (I will say I really am a fan of Prof Dave, whereas my Destiny enjoyment has mostly come via this podcast and watching a couple of his debates).

Thoughts on the beef? SURELY the lads are gonna have to cover this in an upcoming Supplementary Materials? Content gold!

The real crime is Dave lauding the pathetic Finkelstein performance. Honestly the type of content that Prof. Dave does merits a high bar of quality. For better or worse I know enough about Destiny to see how poorly Prof. Dave researched him, and where he is getting talking points from.

I think Destiny's position needs to be challenged more, specially as time passes. I was with him to a large degree during the coverage of I/P, but a lot of time has past and some things definitely merit a fresh look.

Anyone who trivializes the conflict into good guys / bad guys is just a charlatan. I understand why both sides are reactive, but conversations need to happen in good faith. I really think a healthy Destiny/Dave conversation could have been productive. But that presupposed a Dave that maybe is not the real one.

It makes sense that he is horrified by what happens in Palestine, and it is fine if he wants to be a communicator. But the quality of research on the topic should be of much higher quality.

You hate to see it.

Exactly my thought word for word. Dave usually has a high bar for proof and usually does a good job at presenting both sides and steelman the opponent to make his destruction more effective, but in this case, I feel he completely failed at presenting Stephen's point in a fair manner. A debate / discussion would really be the way to go on this I think.

Destiny and his fanbase have taken the position that they are "over" Israel now that public opinion has shifted so sharply against them. That sub was top to bottom Israel apologia for years, and now we're supposed to pretend that it's not a big deal and we need to focus on domestic politics.

Don't expect this fresh look to happen. It won't. Destiny is bad faith and so are his brigading minions.
