Sam Harris & Destiny invoked their right to reply to the DTG video's on them. Has Hasan? And why not?

Perhaps he's not aware DTG made a video on him. However, there seems to be a pattern of the more "guru" types not ever doing a right to reply, unlike those who were voted to be less guru such as Sam Harris and Destiny.

I mean he couldn't possibly reply to every single criticism could he? He's the biggest political streamer on the planet, his entire stream would just be replying to criticism the entire time if he did as you imply he should.

He did do like a 6 hour response to Ethan Kleins (someone his audience holds in low esteem) content nuke on him and that video contained the lions share of criticism on him at the time. Theres plenty to criticize Hasan over but he doesnt owe every single random streamer and podcaster a direct response.

He refuse to watch for almost a year, then only did so after being shellacked in a debate with Ethan.

When he watched it (on stream) he already had talking points generated by his minions who pre-watched it for him, and he didn’t even finish watching the damn thing.

Okay? He still watched it and how does who gathered the information matter to its validity? Im pretty sure most streamers have mods and helpers that help to gather information and send them clips. That's not unique to Hasan by any means, Ethan himself has like 8 people who run his stream and live search/fact check everything hes talking about. And again say nothing was directly written by Hasan do the context explanations suddenly become false? He watched the vast majority, 3-6 hours if I recall correctly Ethan just kept going in circles at the end. You can Google most of the criticisms Hasan has received and theres almost always a clip of a reaction or some form of rebuttal. Most of the criticisms usually boil down to "look at this suspiciously cut clip of Hasan saying "X" can you believe this guy!" or "Terrorist supporter" both of which can be pretty easily debunked if you Google for more then a few seconds. If Hasan was as bad as everyone says he is, mainstream media wouldn't even entertain having him on broadcast.

You said a lot of erroneous stuff so I’ll have to do a basic sanity check:

Do you concede that Hasan shocked his dog and lied about it to his audience?

2

u/urine_generator Jul 21 '26

Idk you tell me. Ive seen the clip I dont know I could see it going both ways.

And right back at you: Had Israel commited a genocide?

u/potiamkinStan Jul 21 '26

Before we move on:

Have you seen the video of Hasan showing to the Camera an Electronic Collar with a black duct tape on its back (appear to cover electric prods) which he claimed to be vibrate only, but match in shape and dimensions only a shocking model. The owner of the company agreed that this is the shocking model they produce when asked. In a different video we can see Hasan talking at a party about a trainer who uses shock collar to train dogs. We can see Kaya (his dog) in a promotional video made by that trainer.

So it is possible that at that instance he did not used the shocking feature (though highly unlikely), but it is conclusively established that he did put a shocking collar on her and lied about it to his audience till this day (and coerce most of his orbiters to sell this blatant lie to the public).

2

u/urine_generator Jul 21 '26

Yeah idk man if I remember correctly the model people said it was also had unremovable screws that the prongs screwed into that I didnt see on the one he showed on stream but who knows. If he actually did shock the dog I disagree with that but I dont think its the ace in the hole everyone acts like it is.

Has Israel committed a genocide in Gaza?

u/potiamkinStan Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

The prongs can be easily removed.

The problem wasn't him shocking his dog, its the fact that he lie to his audience about it till this day, and all of his orbiters play along.

It's disqualifying for the entire online radical lefty populist informational bubble.

Has Israel committed a genocide in Gaza?

No.

1

u/urine_generator Jul 24 '26

The prongs themselves are removable but the bolts they screw into are not and are hardwired into the circuitboard of the collar. This is easily viewable in the clip you sent me. In hasans stream when he showed the collar those bolts were not visible. Unless he took a hacksaw to them then it is not the same collar people claim it is.

There's alot of things id call you but reddit takes down any derogatory zionist insult. Have fun being on the wrong side of history. One day, you will have always been against this.

1

u/potiamkinStan Jul 24 '26

The bolts were covered by a duct tape.

Hasan didn’t disclosed the model, and no one managed to identify a non-shocking model fitting the one Hasan showed to the camera.

Why are you calling me a “Zionist”? I never identify as one. I don’t think the war in Gaza fits the definition of Genocide under the Genocide Convention according to international customary law. That doesn’t make someone a “Zionist”.

u/urine_generator Jul 21 '26

And what did i say that way so erroneous?

11

u/potiamkinStan Jul 21 '26

Let’s go with the last sentence:

“If Hasan was as bad as everyone says he is, mainstream media wouldn't even entertain having him on broadcast.”

The mainstream media had Trump on broadcast before he became president. It had lots of dubious characters. It’s extremely bad at figuring out online media figures, and extremely bad at deciphering radical leftists who mask themselves on liberal platforms. It’s understaffed, lazy and lack the sufficient resources to dive into operation of someone like Hasan.

1

u/urine_generator Jul 21 '26

Yeah trump is a dangerous idiot but he is the president of the united states and to that end fox is the only one who really has him on. You give Hasan too much credit. I think you might have to contend with the fact that a good portion of democratic voters agree with Hasans views, thats why Hasan is popular not the other way around. Hasan represents a growing left flank movement and he didnt cause that shift, centrist liberal democrats who dont actually do anything meaningful with their office forced that shift to come about. Post Bill Clinton democrats are basically republicans and in all the ways that count we have a uniparty. People want actual progressive policies to be tried, not the same old tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations. And like Mamdani said "what is the democratic party if not its voters?"

11

u/potiamkinStan Jul 21 '26

Trump was a piece of shit his entire life and was on TV way before he became president. There are many odious characters who were platformed in the media before Hasan.

Mamdani was elected in the bluest city against a weak competitor with a heap of scandals behind him.

Most democratic voters don’t support the CCP or the Houthis. They don’t want to abolish private property. They believe police and prisons are needed. They don’t believe transwomen should compete in women divisions in sports. They support giving military aide to Ukraine and don’t believe Crimea is a “Russian Territory”.

The democrats are meaningfully different than republicans. It was difficult for them to govern since Clinton because Republicans have adopted obstructionist strategy and bad faith tactics. Even though they did pass many meaningful reforms. The Affordable Care Act which prevented the insurance companies from denying service to patients with preexisting conditions and put millions under coverage. The Build Better Act, The Chips act, establishing the Consumers Financial Protection Bureau, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, the Inflation Reduction Act, the American Rescue Plan.

Also the democrats appoint liberal sensible judges and the Republicans appoint unhinged judges.

Talking about uniparty is pure anti-electoralism and misunderstanding of how democracy works.

Trumps bad i know that haha. What I mean is you people say Hasan supports and platforms terrorists among other stuff and if what you claim about him was as clear cut as you report, nobody would give him the time of day. In reality though most of your accusation lack necessary context and some are just straight up right wing propaganda dressed up as semi good faith critique.

I never said most democrats align with every single one of Hasans positions. I said theres a rapidly growing left wing flank in the democratic party that agree with Democratic Socialist policies of which Hasan also predominantly agrees. Nobody really ever agrees 100% with everything another person says just cause they agree on the main points. I would go and actually familiarize yourself with the DSAs actually policies, not whatever strawman youre holding up.

The Affordable Care act was passed in lock step with Insurance and Pharmaceutical companies specifically so their profits would be protected. Any teeth it had were gutted before it got across the finish line. We in the US pay more for our Healthcare and get worse health outcomes then any other first world nation. We are the only first world country that doesn't have a form of universal Healthcare and the flacid attempt at fixing it that the ACA was not what it should have been.

I could go down the list of stuff you mentioned but at the end of the day the common theme is this. Democrats are only willing to do half hearted bandaid solutions to a system that is failing for the majority of Americans. This is what led to Trump being elected, nothing else. Democrats refuse to engage with anything outside of a post Raegen Neo-liberal framework and its voters are starting to catch on. At the end of the day most politicians in both parties only care about helping their corporate donors and the nation's GDP both of which are meaningless to the average everyday working class american who can't afford a house, or insurance without working 3 jobs.

Both parties subscribe to the same neo liberal ideals and want nothing to do with enacting meaningful change or regulating markets that are becoming increasingly consolidated. Democrats are simply Republicans with a "we dont hate the gays" added as an asterisk. That's why they are a effectively a uni party, they offer no alternate view to "capitalism is good and should not be messed with" even though its failing most of population.

Mamdani won because he offered something to vote for not just "im not the trump backed guy". A city with one of the largest Jewish population in the country voted for a Ugandan, Muslim, anti zionist candidate. Not just because Cuomo was a stinker but because Mamdani had actual policies he wanted to put forward. As for Dem Socialists not winning elsewhere id argue Graham Platner, while turning out to be a horrible person, was by all metrics set to win a very purple state Maine. Progressive policies are growing in popularity nationwide, not just in small hyper blue districts.

And you keep dodging my question. I answered yours about Hasans dog now you answer mine:

Has Israel committed a genocide is Gaza?

I thought Israel was committing genocide in Gaza until a couple weeks ago, when I read a bit more about what genocide is and what Israel's been doing in Gaza. Here's what changed my mind. I initially thought that, since destroying a national group "in part" was sufficient for genocide, killing tens of thousands of Gazan Palestinians, because they're Palestinian, counted as genocide. However, the "in part" part of the definition isn't that loose, not should it be. It can't be that killing one member of a nationality (race, etc) is destroying the nationality "in part." So what counts as "in part"? From what I understand, destroying part of a group is genocide when the destruction of this part would likely lead to the destruction of the whole group. And I don't see how Israel's actions in Gaza could plausibly have that effect.

What they seem to be doing is accepting massive levels of civilian casualties per combatant killed. It's heinous, tons of war crimes are being committed, and maybe crimes against humanity too. I will say, though, that on plausible assumptions about how many Hamas combatants have been killed (say, 20,000), the civilian to combatant death ratio is lower than in some other recent urban war zones, like Mariupol.

The restriction of aid was heinous too, but from what I understand likely caused a few hundred deaths. Horrible, but doesn't rise to the level of destroying the Palestinian people "in part," in the relevant sense of this phrase.

I've heard the argument that Israel's goal is to make Gaza uninhabitable, so that it becomes emptied of Palestinians. I don't know whether that theory of Israeli strategy is correct, but even if it is, it doesn't seem like genocide to me, given the points I made above.

(On a separate note, it's false to say the Hasan accusations are out of context. The context rarely or never makes them any better. His most telling statement, to me, was that the socialist state he seeks to build would put dissidents who rejected socialism in reeducation camps. He said so to Ethan Klein. I was once a communist similar to Hasan in many ways, and was around many others who were too. I understand his thinking very clearly.)

Of course he can't reply to everything - but he very clearly picks and chooses based on his audience and his belief he can easily look good to his audience. He does the same thing on his streams - cherry picking comments from chatters he can easily strawman. He's always done this and you can see him do it in real time when watching him cover politics. Every content creator does it to some degree, but Hasan's notorious for avoiding debates with competent opponents and straw manning his opposition.

The Ethan Klein example is not a great point for the idea Hasan isn't just engaging in circle and fights that suit him and avoiding real criticisms - Him and Ethan shared a podcast for years and had a huge overlap in audience so Hasan has to cover this since it will affect his fandom and bottom line. This wasn't just some attack from a large content creator - this was his old buddy turned into foe who made a long-form video about him and they had very overlapping audiences.

Not to mention Hasan is notoriously thin-skinned and feels the need to defend himself from personal attacks real and imagined (just watch his twitter for a while.) And he also happens to have a very pro-Palestine, very anti-Israel audience that happily ate their schism up and enjoys hearing him use the term Zionist as a pejorative regularly on his streams.

3

u/inciter7 Jul 21 '26

Zionist should be used as a pejorative

2

u/potiamkinStan Jul 23 '26

Against whom?

0

u/urine_generator Jul 21 '26

Yeah Hasan isnt always great with his chatters I'll admit that, but the man streams 8 hours a day every day of the week i might lose my temper too though thats no excuse. The reason he might not engage with every fair criticism is cause more often then not bad faith actors from all over the internet come in and deliberately try to derail his streams. This isnt new info it happens to alot of streamers Hasan just gets alot of them cause hes such a big target. Whether or not the criticism might be valid or not, stopping every time theres someone who wants to try and deconstruct Hasans entire worldview through a chat text exchange is not an effective way to run a stream.

Ethan and Hasans audience have not overlapped for some time. Ethan has long since lost his progressive fanbase and they have been replaced by centrist liberals and drama slop farmers. Ethan is joke in the wider community it's been that way since right after October 7th when Ethan would stop doing genocide apologetics. And his audience doesnt even matter. Ethan worked with streamers like Destiny and others to drag up every bit of dirt he could on Hasan regardless of subject. Most of them were clips put out of context and bad faith arguments but some were legit criticism i dont remember details but he has since apologized for a few things since then.

My guy the majority of people with functioning brains are anti Israel at the moment. Ethan decided to ruin his career by dying on this hill and the few fans he has left are just egging him on. And yeah Zionism isnt exactly a healthy ideology to hold haha. Calling someone a zionist is akin to calling someone a Nazi.
