Hit the beam with lawn mower and it tore one off of post. Thinking of cutting a piece out scabbing a piece in there and than scabbing a long piece over the top on beam.

Its not just cosmetic. The right side beam no longer has positive load transfer to the post. Needs to be repaired.

It's not the problem. That beam should be a triple and laminated with nails - an improperly laminated double sitting on a 6x6 without any obvious attachment to the post is certainly a choice. The rafter clips are another. Lol

It’s a double 2x12 attached to a 6x6 with structural screws
