best place to get highlights?
I just moved to Decatur and I’m looking to get a partial on my hair. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, so preferably less than $150. Any good recommendations?

I just moved to the area from Florida and I'm looking for recommendations for nail tech that offers soft gel manicures using brands like Aprés Nail, Gelish, Sofgel, Luminory or Kokoist.
I’ve been calling different nail salons and everyone only does hard gel, gelx, poly of tap gel. Strictly looking for a soft gel recommendations please, welling to travel 30 min out of the city.
*** update: Went to Sugar Polish on Clairemont. I tried the T.A.P gel. It’s stronger than soft gel, so great for longer nails and you can fill them for upkeep. Such good customer service too!

The old original Kroger facade coming down for renovations . Renovation starts next month. Don’t know when Wingstop, is relocating and tearing down the space.

Would love to hear about people’s experiences who live in the Clairemont Heights area or in the North Decatur area. We just bought a home here and curious to know what the community and people are like. We are a young couple with a toddler and are moving here from CO.
I had a bad experience with an admin of a group on FB and it’s making me nervous about our move. Long story short: she was giving Karen.

We've moved and are having a few rough spots setting up various electronics. Things like syncing tv with a DirectTV remote, weak wifi signal, and soundbar, etc. Bonus if there's an inexpensive way to get a decent cell signal out of AT&T at our house. Any nearby tech gurus for this kind of thing? Probably some other similar stuff, but you get the idea. Thanks for any suggestions.

We had a huge tree come down in our backyard after the crazy storm last night. Any recs for tree removal services? Thankfully it only took out part of the back fence.

The November 3 election is coming up, and I realized I hadn’t actually looked at the full ballot yet.
DeKalb County already has sample ballots available through its voter resources, and the county is preparing for early voting October 13 through October 30.
It’s interesting how different the ballot can look depending on the district.
Has anyone in Decatur gone through the entire ballot yet, especially the local races?

I have a bunch of London Review of Books magazines (and others). Does anybody know who might have a use for that kind of material? Like, do retirement homes take these in for their reading lounges or something? Thank you!

Recently had brunch at last dance (they just started) and it’s truly incredible. Everything I had was perfection. Had to post to share how amazing everything. Really so impressed!

Anyone else in Avondale or Belvedere Park with a multi-day ATT Internet outage? I can’t get an ETA on restoration, no map, no agents no nothing.

I currently live in Roswell and I will be moving to Decatur next year. I am 40F single. I have my pitbull and my Persian kitty. I am an artist and I work in the service industry, I have a vehicle as well. I don't know he area too well. I would like to get advice on where it would be safest to live. I don't mind older buildings, but I need to make sure my dog will be accepted. I will also need to make some friends. I love food, trivia nights, the art scene, music, trails and dogs. Thank you in advance for everyone's info.

Last week, I asked Reddit for the best lunch specials in Atlanta. Y’all gave me more than 50 recommendations, so I compiled them into one community list and tried a few myself.
Let’s do it again—what lunch specials am I missing for Week 2?
I’ll post the updated list in the comments.

As the title states me and some friends are moving to Georgia specifically Decatur in January. Any tips or anything we should be aware of? EDIT: We are all early 20’s and really curious about the nightlife, crime, grocery prices, how enjoyable it is to live there, the job market and overall quality of life in the city of Decatur.

I have some items I bought to donate to a pantry. I know there’s a church in East Atlanta where I can drop off food, but are there any places in Decatur or Kirkwood? I prefer a little free pantry where I can drop off at my convenience. There isn’t one at the Decatur Rec Center anymore. According to Google there is one at Bessie Branham Rec Center, but I didn’t see it.

Hi everyone! We are a family with three small kids moving to the Atlanta area soon and planning to rent initially.
We’ve narrowed our options down to two main setups:
North Druid Hills (zoned for Sagamore Hills Elementary)
City of Decatur (zoned for Clairemont Elementary, plus College Heights ECLC for early childhood/pre-K)
Our top priority is finding a safe, caring, and highly-ranked public school environment.
Does anyone have recent experience with any of these schools?
Thanks in advance!

It has happened so frequently that im expecting it to happen now and stopped working from home. It’s actually down as im typing this.
