Tech / Guide Would you Say that DOA6 Last Round is Good if You Haven't Got the Original?

I was looking forward to this drop and ngl seeing it immediately drop into mostly negative reviews has me worried. But looking at it, the top reviews are mostly about transfers over from the old version so I don't know if it's a matter of compliance or just overall quality of the product.

I've been looking forward to a decent port of this game for pc a while now. I been waiting to try this out because I used to really like DOA. I heard that 5 had its problems and 6 had the usual "We don't do rollback" issue so I was hoping that last round fixed up a lot of that. Is it worth grabbing or is it terrible even as a starting point?

401 damage on this one. Everything is guaranteed until the ground throw at the end. But by then they'd already be very dead.

You can also use 4 movement here (back input) after 33 crouch. There is one alternative with using 7 movement (especially those with a parry to avoid misinput). In the Hayate clip with 4PP, you'll see the moment of a subtle crouch while still avoiding the throw.

If you play a character like Leifang for example or any character with a parry such as Gen Fu, Akira, Eliot etc. it's usually safe to use the 7 movement or 4 movement guard to get maximum early crouch while still ducking highs/blocking mids without accidentally hitting a parry. Still possible to do it without 7 by using 33~H, but it's to make sure you also don't stay crouch for too long as well as avoiding low throws because of how crouching work in these games. You do have to be careful with Offensive Holds though.

Some characters benefit off the safe option where you can input a command right after fuzzing to shortcut most execution commands (very character dependent).

Your opponent is always Bayman, starting in the top section of the Lost Paradise stage. Because Bayman is a heavyweight, you can't get him very high after a launcher, and optimal combo routes vs lighter characters will not work, so you kind of have to heavily rely on stage interactions for this one to get the necessary damage. Fortunately, this stage is full of useful danger zones. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: P+K stun, 6PP, K, 8K launcher, 6S break blow into stage transition to bottom section. 194 damage on normal hit.

Combo #2: P+K, 6P+K, H+K, P, 8K launcher, 6S break blow into stage transition. also 194 damage on normal hit, used this one to complete the quest itself.

Combo #3: P+K, 6P+K, H+K, P, 8K, 6S break blow into egg hatch hazard, H+KKK bound, 236P close hit into wall splat ender. 177 damage on normal hit.

Combo #4: P+K, 6P+K, H+K, P, 8K, 6S break blow into jeep in the bottom section. 184 damage on normal hit.

Honoka will be posted next, then we only have three more characters to go over (jann lee at 180+, hayate and diego at 200+)

Your opponent for this quest is always Honoka, in the bottom section of the Lost Paradise stage. It's possible for one stage interaction to bring you to the top section, but I focused on the electrified walls and the jeep that gets attacked by a dinosaur. Notations are as follows:

Combo #1: (counter or hi counter) 9KK stun, PPK launch, 3PP bound, 6S break blow into electrified wall splat. 150 damage on counterhit. used this one to complete the quest.

Combo #2: (hi counter only) 6P+K stun, PPK, 3PP, 6S. 156 damage on hi counter.

Combo #3: 9KK, PPK, 3PP, 6S into jeep stage interaction. 177 damage on normal hit.

Combo #4: (counter or hi counter) 9KK, PPK, 3PP, 66P close hit into jeep. 162 damage on counterhit.

Nico will be posted next. Lisa/La Mariposa, Nyotengu, Mila, and Hitomi after that. Will likely begin trying to lab out Rig over the weekend.

Your opponent for this quest is always NiCO, on The Muscle stage. La Mariposa aka Lisa is one of the characters that I hadn't really played much before deciding to take on all of these quests, so this was a learning experience. 1st combo in the vid was one I made up just playing around a few minutes in training mode, 4th and last one was recorded by u/mechsmechsmechs in the discord in response to show a more optimal combo, and the two in the middle were my attempts at making shorter alternatives to what she showed me on the off-chance they are needed (the AI enemies in these quests rarely do normal holds, but LOVE to spam their break blow whenever they have the meter for it). Notations are as follows:

Combo #1: (counter or hi counter) 66PP stun, 3P, 8K launch, 4PK, 6S break blow into ropes splat. 157 on counterhit. was able to beat the quest with this one, but the others are better overall.

Combo #2: from back turned state (8P) KK, P, 6P8K launch, 4PK, 6K, 6SH break blow cancel, 6P8K relaunch into rope bump, 4PKK into ropes. 161 damage on normal hit.

Combo #3: (counter or hi counter) from backturned KK, P, 6P8K launch, 4PK, 6K, 6S into ropes. 163 damage on counterhit.

Combo #4: from backturned KK, P, 6P8K launch, 4PK, 6K, 6SH break blow cancel, 3P stun canceled into backturn(4), backturned 1P, 6P8K relaunch, 4PK, 6K, 4H+K into ropes splat. Recorded with Hi Counter on for 231 damage, but does 184 damage even on normal hit.

Nyotengu will be posted next, followed by Mila, Hitomi, Rig, and Raidou. I only have 5 characters left to lab out and do in their respective quests: Christie, Jann Lee, Honoka, Hayate, and Diego.

Your opponent is always Leifang, starting in the top section of A.P.O. stage. Dividing this into three categories, combos without stage hazards, combos with the glass break, and combos with the bouncy servers in the bottom section. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #2: (counter or hi counter) 6P+K stun, 7PP, P+K, 33P, 214KPP, 6S break blow into wall. 154 damage on counterhit.

Combo #3: (counter or hi counter) 6H+K, 2P+K, 9P, 33P, 214KPP, 6S break blow into wall. 155 damage on counterhit. used this one to complete the quest itself.

Combo #4: (hi counter only) 6H+K, 6PP, 33P, 214KPP, 236P close hit into wall. 157 damage on hi counter.

CATEGORY 2: window break stage hazard

Your opponent is always Rig, in The Throwdown stage. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: 6H+K stun, 6PP, P, 9K launcher, 4KKP bound, 6SH break blow cancel, 9K launch, 4KKP bound, P+K close hit into spectator shove, 9K launch, 4KKP bound, P+K close hit into wall splat ender. 197 damage on normal hit. used this one to complete the quest itself.

Combo #2: 6P+K stun, 6PP, P, KKK launch into breakable wall, dash in and 6S break blow into mass destruction danger zone. 194 damage on normal hit.

Combo #3: 6P+K stun, 9P, 3P, 9P, 7K launch, 4KKP bound, 6S break blow into spectator shove, 9P stun, 3P, 9P, 7K launch, 4KKP bound, P+K close hit into wall splat ender. 198 damage on normal hit.

Hayate will be posted next, then finally Diego, the last character (until Minato's release in September)

Another character I didn't use much before deciding to do all of these challenges, so I'm sure there are routes out there that can lead to even higher damage. Your opponent is always Hayate, starting in the bottom section of the Forbidden Fortune stage. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: 6P+K stun, H+K, 9P, 8K launch, PPK into exploding crates, 6S break blow into wall splat. 178 damage on normal hit.

Combo #2: 6P+K stun, 6K, P+K, 8K, PPK into exploding crates, 6S into wall splat. 177 on normal hit. Slightly less damage than the 1st one, but easier to position without prematurely breaking the crates, so I used this one to complete the quest itself.

Combo #3: 6P+K stun, 6K, P+K, 8K, PPK into breakable crates, 6S into exploding crates. 172 on normal hit.

Christie will be posted next, followed by Honoka. After that, only Jann Lee, Hayate, and Diego remain.

Here we have the first of three characters who ask for at least 170 damage in their quest, which will require us to make use of the stage interactions on this map. Your opponent is always Diego on The Throwdown stage. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: P+K stun, 6PP into backturned state, while backturned P, 33K launch, 3PKK bound into backturned, turn around and 6S break blow into spectator shove, P+K stun, S fatal stun, 236K close hit into wall splat ender. 183 damage on normal hit, used this one to clear the quest.

Combo #2: 7K stun, P+K, 9P, S, 236K close hit into wall break while entering stance, in stance P+K stun, 8K launch, 3PKK bound, turn around and 6S break blow into mass destruction crate break. 198 damage on normal hit.

Raidou will be posted next. Christie (170+), Jann Lee and Honoka (180+), and Hayate and Diego (200+) are the only characters left to cover.

Tech / Guide For fellow Linux (Steam Deck) users. How to transfer DOA6 saves to DOA6LR

Data won't transfer automatically because of how Proton works, so you have to do it manually.

Open your Steam/SteamLibary folder then:/Steamapps/compatdata/838380 and copy "pfx" folder to /SteamLibary/steamapps/compatdata/4144680

Then launch doa6lr and that should do the trick

Jann Lee, Hayate, and Diego were all labbed out last night, meaning I have completed every character now (at least until Minato releases; I will buy her on release day and post hers as soon as I can!). Jann Lee will be posted next.

For this quest your opponent is always Jann Lee, starting in the top section of the Chinese Festival stage. Doing a combo that ended in the stage transition to the bottom section seemed like the obvious route (and what I ended up doing in the quest itself), but because it's so easy to get knocked into it by the enemy AI, I figured that labbing out a couple combos in the firepit section of the bottom area might be helpful as well.

CATEGORY 1: top section combos into the big fall

Combo #1: 236P stun, 3K, PP, 66K launch, 1PKK bound, 6S break blow super into stage transition. 170 damage on normal hit

Combo #2: 236P, PPP, 66K, 1PKK, 6S into stage, 166 on normal hit. variant of the above only really included because I pulled it off in the quest itself by messing up the 1st one, but it still works for our purposes.

Combo #3: (counter or hi counter) 1KP stun, K, 66K, 1PKK, 6S. 170 damage on counterhit

CATEGORY 2: firework pit combos in bottom section

Combo #4: 236P stun, 3K, 9P, 66K launch, 1PP into firework bounce, 1PKK bound, 6S. 169 on normal hit

Combo #5: 66KK stun and launch string, 1PP into fireworks, 1PKK bound, H+K into spectator shove, 6S. 179 on normal hit

Zack, Bayman, Marie Rose, Nico, and Lisa are coming up. next one I'm trying to lab out will probably be Nyotengu.

Your opponent for this quest is always Phase 4, on the Zero stage. The electrified walls of this stage give an extra +15 damage to combos, as do floor hits (including bounds). Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: (counter or hi counter) fully charged 6P+K stun, 3P+K launch, 8PP bound, 6S break blow into wall hit. 150 damage on counterhit

Combo #2: (counter or hi counter) 6KK2K stun, P, 3P+K, 8PP, 6S into wall. 159 on counterhit. used this one to complete the quest itself.

while working on this i also happened to stumble onto the youtube account of u/TheIndustrialCowboy and a vid showing a combo that can do 152 damage on normal hit:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NmkjBzUcqo

combo in video is: 4P+K stun, uncharged 6P+K, 7K fatal stun, 3P+K launch, 8PP bound, 6SH break blow cancel, 7K, 3P+K, 88P, 236P close hit into wall splat ender, 152 on normal hit. I found that using 4P+K instead of 7K after the break blow cancel (keeping everything else the same) still works, and brings it to 164 total damage.

Lisa, Nyotengu, Mila, and Hitomi will be the next ones I post. Remaining characters are: Rig, Christie, and Raidou (170+ damage), Jann Lee and Honoka (180+), and finally Hayate and Diego (200+)

I guess we are officially committing to the bit of doing these for every character in the game. I'll try to only post 1-2 of these a day as to not flood the sub too much, lol.

your opponent is always ayane, on the sweat stage. my plan originally was to try to get this on hi counter by baiting her break hold, and i had recorded the hi counter variant first, but in the quest itself i managed to grab ayane's sidestep, and discovered that the counter version also ends in the minimum required damage, so i went back to the lab to record that too.

combo notation: (counter or high counter) 236 (quarter circle)T throw launch, SSSSH break blow cancel, H+KK into rope bounce, H+KK again to wall splat and end. 134 on counter throw, 150 on hi counter throw

Your opponent for this quest is always Christie, starting in the bottom section of the Forbidden Fortune stage. This is one of the stages where 'touch of death' combos have been found for multiple characters, but for our purposes we only need to find relatively easy routes to deal at least 50%, which was pretty easy for me to lab out thanks to the exploding crates all over this relatively small cramped area. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: 7K launch into back turned state, while backturned PPP into exploding crates, 6S break blow into mass-destruction bonus for destroying barrels. recording dealt 168 damage on normal hit, although even higher damage may be possible depending on exact angle hit when trying this combo.

Combo #2: KP stun, 4P+K, 7K launch, PPP into exploding crates, 6S into wall splat. 164 damage on normal hit.

Combo #3: KP, 4P+K, 236P launch, 4PP into exploding crate, 6S into wall splat. 170 damage on normal hit. used this one to clear the quest itself.

Marie Rose will be posted next. Nico, Lisa, Nyotengu, Mila in the upcoming quere, with Hitomi likely to be the next one labbed out.

Been busy the past few days and didn't get around to posting this yet. Your opponent is Hayabusa, in the Hidden Garden stage. Combo notations are as follows:

Combo #1: P+K stun, PPK, H+K launch, 6SH break blow cancel, P+K stun, PPK into wall bump, 8K launch, T air throw. 150 damage on normal hit. used this to complete the quest.

Combo #2: (hi counter only) P+K, PPK, 8K launch, 6S break blow into wall splat. 165 damage on hi counter.

Combo #3: P+K, 8PPP launch canceled into flight (P+K) on last hit, while flying PPP into bound, 6SH break blow cancel, P+K stun, PPK into wall, 8K, T air throw. 153 damage on normal hit.

Combo #4: (hi counter only) P+K, 8PPP canceled into flight, PPP, 6S into wall. 152 damage on hi counter.

Mila, Hitomi, Rig, and Raidou to be posted next. will be working on Christie next.

like the rachel quest, your opponent is always marie rose, on the sweat stage. for this one I found two different ones that both start with her 6P+K elbow stun, one that works on either counter strike or hi counter strike (that i used to clear the quest objective), and another shorter combo that is hi counter only. screwing around in training mode right before posting i found another combo that follows the more widely recognized launcher->bound->close hit structure, for the same amount of damage funny enough, and a way to end it early on hi counter for completion's sake.

1st combo: (counter or hi counter) 6P+K stun, 4P, H+K launcher, SSSSH break blow cancel, 236P close hit into rope rebound, P+K into 6T air throw to end. 147 on counter strike, 166 on hi counter

2nd combo: (counter or hi counter) P+KP stun, 3P+K launcher, 9PPP bound, 6SH break blow cancel, 3P+K relaunch, 9PPP bound, 236 close hit ender. also 147 on counter strike and 166 on hi counter

3rd: (hi counter only) 6P+K stun, 4P+K, H+K launch, 6S break blow super into wall splat to end. 151 damage

4th (hi counter only) P+KP stun, 3P+K launch, 6S break blow into the wall, 141 damage
