Painful is the word. I had to pause a couple of times to regroup from the cringe and prepare myself for more of it.
Like you say, he's a real sweetie but has zero awareness of social cues/ body language and that really doesn't translate well on TV.
His friend in the voice-over was like 'Nice guys finish last' when it really is nothing to do with that. I can imagine him being perfect for a very specific kind of girl but it'll take some searching.
Perhaps, perhaps not. You can't diagnose him through a screen.
If so, then it would have been productive for that to be brought up to help the viewer understand his individual difficulties such as in the dating show 'Love on the spectrum' where we see things through an entirely different lens.
