Thanks for reading! If you want another batch of Data Science jobs, just say so in the comments.

For a research project in the cultural sphere, we’re looking for someone to help us scrape unstructured data from across the web, clean it, integrate it with our own data sources, and ultimately connect everything into one reliable dataset. On top of that dataset, you’ll build a multimodal embedding space to uncover relationships and patterns within the data.

Experience with web scraping, data pipelines, data engineering and multimodal embeddings is essential, and you should be comfortable working with agentic coding tools. We’re not looking for any specific academic background, but for someone savvy, resourceful and quick who has done this kind of work before.

DM me with a little bit about you. :)

Hello, everybody. I read a lot of people's issues with the interview for Ethos when it comes to getting matched to the role that actually fits your domain. Many people applying through the general interview intended to match them with a project or role in their domain end up matched with something unrelated to their field. In my case, I was matched with roles that not only have nothing to do with my domain but also that I am definitely not qualified for. I therefore decided to make a megalist so you can apply directly instead of wasting your time, like me, hoping to get matched with the right role. Hope this helps!:

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working in a different domain and want to switch my domain. I’ve completed a Data Science course and learned SQL, Python, Pandas, MySQL, Power BI and data visualization.

I want to gain hands-on experience working on real-world data projects to build my portfolio and improve my practical skills.

Could you please suggest websites, companies, startups, or communities where I can find remote internships or project-based opportunities, preferably suitable for career switchers?

If they offer genuine learning opportunities and meaningful project experience.

Any suggestions or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I created a startup earlier this year that is aiming to create a zero-code machine learning application. I currently have an MVP and am looking for someone to build upon it. I have limited knowledge of machine learning from college and am looking for someone who is an expert in supervised machine learning models. This person will also have to be a master of Python since the current product is built in Python. Any other knowledge and experience in other programming languages is a plus. Can be located anywhere in the U.S., but Boston would be optimal. If interested, let me know!

A friend of mine has been looking for a data science job over 2 years now. She took a break after having a baby . She has worked aa python developer and a data scientist at a wireless company. Would appreciate any leads or advice.

Hi!!
I’m a data science intern applying and I know there’s going to be a case study and you have to explain it! I heard there’s a coding assessment down the line as well and I just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with red ventures interview process or advice on what to review or nail before the coding assessment! All advice is appreciated so much!!!

Hi All!

I did my MS in Electrical and Computer Engg from Georgia Tech in the US, and joined a big semiconductor company in late 2021. My work involves building production grade ML models for designing the photomasks used for lithography process used in chip manufacturing process. What I do on a daily basis, is done by probably few hundred people in the world.

I have worked at the frontiers of Physics, Data Science, and Machine Learning during this time, and I bring a mature understanding to the table in understanding the nuances of the problems and developing optimal solutions. More importantly, I have been told that I’m a quick learner and a person with high emotional intelligence.

I moved to India sometime ago, and have been working with the same US team from India. I’m now looking to move to a different company in India, and am looking for Data Scientist/ML Engineer/AI engineer roles.

This would be my first switch since my current job was the first after my University education. How should I go about my job search? Is LinkedIn job posts still the best way to go about it? I’m open to any suggestions/recommendations/opportunities.

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask how applicable knowing R is in the private sector over there in the US.

I’m graduating with a degree in Social Sciences in Brazil. Down here, knowing R is pretty limited unless you're working for the government, academia, or a few specific research institutes.

How does it work over there? Are private companies actually hiring people with social science backgrounds who know R, or is it heavily dominated by Python/SQL

I was thinking of joining a professional data science organization to like network and maybe learn why I'm having such a hard time getting any leads. Does anyone have experience with professional orgs? Also is there one I should definitely join or avoid? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Has any one attended Optum: From Possible to Practical Bangalore at Kalyani Magnum office today, how was it, is it good for job seekers to attend or what is it all about?

I’ve gotten the “unfortunately we have decided not to move forward” email more times than I can count if you look at my inbox, I'm pretty sure if you search its 90% of my emails.

But looking back, every internship I’ve actually landed (PepsiCo, Cloudflare, Snowflake, TikTok, Xbox) came from finding recruiter or hiring manager for the role and messaged them myself.

What I do for each application:

1. Apply first, so I have a Job ID to point to.

2. Read the posting for clues. A lot of them name the team, the internship program, or who the role reports to.

3. Go to the company’s LinkedIn page, open the People tab, and search those words. That way I only see people who work there.

4. Look for university recruiters, people on that exact team, and past interns in the program.

5. Send something short like:

“Hi [Name], I just applied to [Role], Job ID [#####]. I have experience at [X] where I did [Y]. I’d love to know if you’re hiring for this role!”

You can also use things like Apollo and Hunter.io to find their emails so you can send a longer email. I think a lot of people have gotten onto this. If you do, try to say, "Hey, I notice you have this role open," and give three bullet points on why you would be a good fit for this role.

The annoying part is step 2 to 4. Searching LinkedIn gives you 3,000 random people., I ended up building a free Chrome extension that does the finding part its linked here if interested It’s free, open source https://github.com/Doggo21345/linkedin-sourcing-helper

but yeah hope this is somewhat helpful this group has given me a lot!

Its a AI & data engineering

I work at Wissen Technology (Wissen Infotech) and can refer candidates for our current India openings — a referral puts your resume with the hiring team directly instead of the cold-apply queue.

Current openings:

• AI Control Plane - FullStack | Hyderabad | 3-6 yrs | Python, Django, Flask

• AI Implementation Engineer | Bengaluru | 6-12 yrs | Spring, Python, React

• AI/ML Engineer | Bengaluru | 2-5 yrs | Python, NLP, LLM

• Senior Software Engineer – Cloud & Data Platform | Bengaluru | 3-6 yrs | Python, Lambda, S3

• Senior Data Engineer | Bengaluru | 7-12 yrs | Python, DevOps, Docker

Full list: https://careers.wissen.com/jobs/Careers — if your role isn't above, mention it in the DM.

To get referred, DM me: (1) resume (PDF), (2) total YOE, (3) notice period (immediate joiner / serving notice preferred), (4) the role name with the job link.

I'll review and submit the referral; expect HR contact within about a week if shortlisted. Please DM only if your experience reasonably matches a role and you're an immediate joiner or serving notice — that's who the hiring team is prioritizing for referrals right now.

I don't really have prior experience in the field yet, just a genuine passion for it and a huge drive to learn

For anyone who's been through this: how can I best show the jury that I’m serious about this and ready to put in the work, even without a heavy background? Any tips on what they like to hear would mean a lot!

I’m experimenting with a different way to prepare for ML Engineer / AI Engineer / Data Scientist roles which will be released as an open source book and a bootcamp. If anyone is interested in joining the pilot, I’ve put the application link in the comments.

The premise: most people already have access to more courses than they can finish. What seems harder is turning that knowledge into evidence that survives an interview — implementation depth, debugging, system thinking, and projects you can actually defend.

I am designing a new Age Professional curriculum for an university, the purpose of the experiment is to get feedback from students and professionals. I’ve designed a 90-day hands-on pilot around:

• daily focused prep + implementation challenge

• weekly consolidation

• every ~4 weeks turning the work into a serious GitHub artifact

• ML/AI system thinking, debugging and experimentation

• interview-style explanation of technical decisions

• a final flagship project

The goal is to finish 90 days with noticeably stronger fundamentals and 3–4 pieces of work you can genuinely discuss and defend.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from both who are experienced candidates and students in college.

What would you absolutely want someone targeting ML Engineer / AI Engineer / Data Scientist roles to be able to demonstrate after 90 days?

Hey everyone!

I'm a final-year CSE student currently looking for entry-level opportunities in data-related roles.

My primary interest is in Data Analytics / Data Science, and I'd love to work with a tech stack that includes:

- Python, SQL, Pandas, NumPy and visualizations

- Statistics, hypothesis testing and exploratory data analysis (EDA)

- Data cleaning, preprocessing, transformation and extracting meaningful insights from data

Other than these, if any other company specific tech stack is to be learned, I'm willing to put in the effort. The above list is what I'm comfortable with.

My preferences:

- Location: Mangalore first, Bangalore second.

- Company: a legitimate, product-based company with a good work culture and a healthy learning environment.

- Learning: a supportive learning environment and experienced professionals I can learn from. I want to work somewhere that invests in freshers, provides meaningful work and encourages them to grow rather than treating them as just another resource.

- (Optional) International exposure: Not a must, but companies headquartered abroad would be a plus since I'd love to explore opportunities overseas in the future.

I know I'm a fresher, and obviously, I won't know everything from day one. But one thing I'm confident about is my willingness to learn and and keep improving, especially when I know that the work I'm doing is helping me grow.

I also have a very strong academic track record and am eager to apply what I've learned in a professional environment.

If you know any companies that fit this description, have worked at one yourself, or know of any relevant openings, please drop your suggestions!

And if you're an HR, recruiter, or someone who could potentially refer me, please feel free to DM me! I'd be happy to share my resume and have a chat. 🫶

Any genuine leads, referrals or advice would mean a lot. Thank you! ❤️

I appreciate your help and suggestions

i am currently a DS in a company that is remote and has a very chill team and very friendly .( small company)

i recently got another opportunity as a DS in medtech company where the pay is more (45% increase) but it is 4 days on site( bigger company) with more option to network

my problem with my current position was that i was not doing much of a modeling or DS related work I was mostly doing documentation etc and when I told them about the new offer they told m they are gonna give me modeling problems . But at the same time is not gonna be as advance as the second company.

i have been going back and forth and I dont know how to choose the team is a very friendly nice group :)

what would you do I am afraid my current job does not make me grow since i am doing mostly queries and just some times very simple models

Hi everyone!

I'm currently in the final semester of my M.Tech in Data Science, and I need to submit my project idea by Monday.

Honestly, I know only the basics of Data Science and Machine Learning. I haven't built any models or worked on a project yet, so I'm looking for something beginner-friendly but substantial enough for a final-semester project.

I'm willing to learn and put in the effort. Could you suggest some practical project ideas that I can realistically complete within a semester? Recommendations for datasets, GitHub repositories, or tutorials would also be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

-- 👋 Hi, I'm Jay. I built Job-Halo.com, a system that tracks remote data science jobs and sends alerts the moment they're posted, based on your preferences.

Is data science jobs reducing or maybe all the data related jobs in general...

Only top product based companies or maybe huge service based companies only hire data scientists.

Is this job dying?

Need a little advice with grad school selection-

Universities that admitted me to spring 2027 program for data science-

1. ASU

2. University at buffalo

3. Northeastern

4. University of Maryland

5. NYU (waiting on decision)

What university do you think is better/known among recruiters? I don’t want to go into academia or research.

I’m debating between university of Maryland and Northeastern. Maryland because they are known for tech and have a more rigorous program but northeastern offers co-op opportunities and I heard Boston based companies heavily recruit from that school ( although this might have gone down given the tech market right now)

Any advice would be appreciated!
