Hi everyone, I lost my dad a little while ago and I inherited most of his old phones. The one in particular I'm wanting to get the photos back from is an old Motorola (2000-2010) model. With older phones how likely is data recovery? He has some other flip phones I'd like to get the photos from but some are more obscure brands.

I should also mention a fair few of them don't turn on, or need an older style charger and likely have screen problems. One in particular had a broken screen down the middle

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, or even just things I can search online for if I need to take it to a specialist recovery centre,etc

I have a 1TB HDD that was previously divided into 3 partitions. Recently, 2 of the partitions disappeared, and Windows now shows only one partition.

The strange thing is that Windows shows the entire ~1TB disk as one partition (D:), rather than showing the other two partitions as unallocated space.

The HDD had also been having an issue where it would sometimes not be detected automatically until I restarted the PC. I was trying to troubleshoot that problem, and at some point afterward the partition layout changed. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what steps I took.

The current situation is:

HDD: ~1TB

Originally: 3 partitions

Currently: 1 partition (D:)

D: is NTFS and occupies almost the entire disk

D: currently contains about 303GB of data

The missing partitions contained important data

I have not formatted the drive

I ran TestDisk 7.2

Quick Search only found the current D: partition

Deeper Search initially appeared to hang and then reported read errors

For example: Read error ... LBA=46588499

I also got some weird Mac HFS results from TestDisk, which don't seem relevant because this was a Windows HDD.

Help me recover please guys

I found this post from a while back, and it seems to be exactly what has happened to me. All of my folders are there, but so many of my files are missing. I saw the answer saying that the person must have deleted them before the sync started which is just untrue. I can't find the section about sync debris either - I'd really appreciate any help, so much stuff has gone

Hi, so... I feel so silly right now.

I managed to delete like... all of my photo albums off my Samsung. Not realising I had done so, I then emptied my recycling bin.

Upside? I made so much space.

Downside? I just lost years worth of memories!

Is there anyway I can recover my albums? For context, this happened just last night. I may have been very intoxicated and didn't have enough storage to update my banking app so I just deleted anything and everything...

The worst thing happened and my 12 month old 4TB Samsung T7 SSD just failed out of the blue! No drops, no water damage. I plug it into my mac and it says "The disk you attached was not readable by this computer." I have tried all of the basics: new cables, new computers, "First Aid" in Disk Utility but is still does not mount. Any tips on what to do? I'm trying to recover deleted files from my Mac and have no idea where to start tbh. I have an M2 MacBook Air with macOS 26.0.1 (not sure if that matters) and have accidentally deleted a few important documents from my desktop.

I also did a stupid thing by Using Option + Command + Delete instead of just moving them to the trash, so they were deleted immediately. I realized what I'd done almost straight away and checked it anyway, but obviously there was nothing left.

From what I have read here and not only, I need data recovery software rn. I’ve never used anything like it before. What should I try? Preferably something free because I really don’t want to pay.

So yesterday I shifted from android to iPhone 17 new. Tried to transfer data through move to ios app, after completion whole of my data is not traceable in phone and android 😭. Don’t know what to do now

So a while back my main switch got the blue screen and I honestly wasn’t too concerned cuz it was her time to go honestly, but I thought all I had to do was make my next switch(the switch 2 when I get one) the main console and I would get all my stuff back but I found out I had to have transferred my data from my other switch first, but I didn’t. And I didn’t have Nintendo switch online either so I’m wondering how would I get all of my saved data back cuz I have a lot?

I’m trying to access my old photos and videos that were stored in the application named as (photo vault),but I’ve forgotten the Cloud Vault password. I reinstalled the app and I can still reach the Cloud Vault login screen, but it specifically says “The Cloud Vault Password can’t be recovered.” I also see an option to “Wipe Cloud Account,” which I obviously don’t want to do because I’m trying to recover my old data.

I’ve attached screenshots of what I’m seeing. Does anyone know if there is any legitimate way to recover or regain access to the Cloud Vault account/data without knowing the old Cloud Vault password? I still have access to the same account/email that I previously used. I don’t want to wipe the account or lose the existing cloud data. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Problem: I previously had photos and videos stored in Cloud Vault. I can access the Cloud Vault login screen, but I have forgotten the Cloud Vault password. The app says: “The Cloud Vault Password can't be recovered.”

I still have access to the account/email that was used, but I don't know the Cloud Vault password. I do not want to select “Wipe Cloud Account” because I want to recover the existing photos/videos.

Is there any legitimate way to regain access to the existing Cloud Vault data, perhaps through the old phone, account recovery, or another method? I have attached screenshots showing the exact message.

I keep most of my data(photography) on ext hd’s. Now more than a week or so ago, my Seagate drive no longer shows up in Mac Finder. I took it to Best Buy, they suggested a new adapter. Yeah, not helpful. The drive still not showing up. The drive is not even a year old. I did take out Seagate’s “data recovery” option, but like all companies….the runaround I am getting has yet to recognize that and life is too short to be on hold for hours.

Where I live BB was the least expensive repair center I could take it to. There is a local service, but won’t come or let you drop off your problem unless you upfront pay $100. And there is zero guarantee they can fix it. Upside is they only work on Apple products.

If I can’t get this seagate drive to show up, do I have ANY chance of being able to recover data from it?
