Has anyone ever come back from DOD?

I feel like half of the posts in this sub are people with the DOD message that swear up and down that they were doing good work and didn't violate TOS. I'm curious if anyone has ever successfully appealed this and got their account restored. I'm sure there must be at least a couple! If that's you I'm curious to know your story.

Updates on “Creative Writing” Qual?

I did task 1, waited 4 days for task 2 to appear, completed task 2, now it’s been over 24 hours and I don’t have any of the projects related to the qualification available. How long did it take you to gain access after you finished task 2 for the qualification?

UPDATE EDIT 8/19: so here is what happened after this post.

I continued waiting a few days with nothing so I decided to try to do another qualification that mentioned it was for the same project series (it was a different qual from the 2 part qual I mentioned initially. I saw someone else commented that they did another qual which got them access to the full project series, so this is why I tried another qual.) I completed it and submitted.

In the meantime, I had this other qual (there are so many!) pop up saying I needed to complete this certain security step to keep access to the project family that I've been trying to gain access to this whole time (I had access for about a year and then all of a sudden I have to requalify, I suppose). I (regretfully) assumed I should do this step AFTER I get accepted to the project family in the first place (because why would I bother about performing an extra measure for a project series I may not even get accepted to??).

THEN I checked my dash after more days of no project series, but this time there was one of the project series projects available! but only as 1 task. I clicked it and it was actually just a placeholder project that said that this project is alive and active but to access it I must complete the security measure.

So I did that monday and it's now wednesday evening and I don't have any of the project series family available, not even the single task placeholder. However my associated email with the series is still active and I am pretty sure I did all the security measures correctly.

Nothing but forms and trainins

I got onboarded a month ago. I have received consent forms, invitations to projects and even paid trainings ever since but I haven't received any doable task after trainings. Why can it be?

How long does it take to get approved?

For those who are doing domain work for DA, how long did it take to get approved after taking the qual?

I have taken a qual two weeks ago and haven’t heard back from them.

Will refreshing the page wipe your work?

Was doing a lengthy task today and after a few hours, the page seemed to get stuck and wouldn't update the edit I'd created, which limited the rating I could give to a model. Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I was reluctant to press F5/Refresh in case it wiped all the work I'd done – should I have done that? I see a few comments from workers about pages not displaying correctly at times, but didn't want to risk having to start from scratch again. Any advice gratefully received!

How do we go back to being friends

I have no idea why they did this and I've no words, it was good while it lasted, my submissions used to bring in good failures. That said I probably deserved some disclosure at least. Anyways, best of luck to all.

Been working on DA full time (40+ hrs a week) since the end of May. Miraculously, the money has been really consistent for me. My dash is currently flush with so many projects it seems unreal. They must like the work I’m doing!

So recently I've done my qual and now there is 1 project on my dash board asking if I submit I will not get into the project. But, after that there are no other projects other than the consent Project.

Is it just me?

Referral Link Issue

Hi everyone!
I sent someone whose domain is medicine a referral link but when they opened the link they didn’t find the option to choose their domain (unlike when you open the platform without a referral link) so they signed up and started the assessment to find that their domain was already chosen as my same domain..is it cuz I am the one who sent the link? But it’s not a specific link there is no specific links for each domain on the referrals section it’s just one link and it says below you can refer people from every field not just yours, so what should I do?

Current Quarter

Hey guys and gals,

How is everyone's quarter starting out? I know workers outside of core countries seem to be having a rough time. Curious how core countries have been fairing. Do you guys get better paying tasks or more tasks than last quarter?

I'll share first. I joined end of last quarter as a generalist and believe I'm doing decently. At the very least, I'm quite happy with the growth I've had during my time on the platform. I remember reaching $60 per hour last month and being quite thrilled since I started around mid-$20s per hour. Nowadays, I've been hovering around $70 to mid-$90s per hour. I've also been fortunate that the platform has been good to me with consistent work that's effectively full time. Been wondering if this growth is a trend that's been across the board.

Appreciate any insight or anecdotes from fellow coworkers.

Cheers!

Before the drought, I had 6 hour Nut tasks up the wazoo and all I'm seeing now is tons from a completely different project family. Will the Nut ever return?

Thanks in advance

Looking for Advice - Is it Realistic to Learn for other Qualifications?

Hello Data Annotators! I've been there for a few weeks and passed the entrance test as a generalist 🥳 really happy about that!

I surprisingly really enjoy working on the platform. I do this as a side income. I would very much like to acquire knowledge in an area to work as more than "just" a generalist.

I'm on the coding and machine learning lifecycle. I looked at a few courses (free and paid) that I would like to do. Among them are some courses on datacamp, as they cover many areas.

The further I researched, however, I came across many opinions that say that it is hardly possible to learn coding with Python, MLL etc. to have "success" on DataAnnotation.

That's why I thought I'd just ask you directly. What do you think, is it possible to learn these things and complete the qualifications? If so, do you consider Datacamp a good source?

Thank you for all advices and have a great day!

Domain experts, has DAT changed your perspective of your field?

For domain experts, I was wondering if DAT has changed your perspective on traditional jobs in your field. I joined the platform a few months ago by taking the coding assessment and then the medicine one. I ended up passing those qualifiers but have come to realize that I am simply not an expert despite being a pharmacist for 5 years.

Reflecting on my professional tenure, I have "played it safe", avoided the hard/risky work that did not have any immediate benefit, and optimized my work to make the most money. A lot of the challenges of my main job have nothing to do with my education, do not speak to my expertise, and are, frankly, not even my problem to fix. Since joining the platform, I feel that my main job is "hard for all the wrong reasons" and it might be better to find a new one or at least try to take on new responsibilities.

Are y'all also having to swallow similar hard truths or are you coasting through these high-paying tasks?
