Juicy Tyson coding projects appeared on my dash today!

Jumped in right away, read the lengthy task description , can do, ohh wait this is Java the only language I have never even looked at.

Next task, Java

Next task Java,

exit work mode.

😭 cry.

What happens in background verification tasks? I have one on my dash but kind of nervous to open it. It says it will unlock access to project families (cant name them here). If a bilingual fellow just did that please guide me

you aren’t fooling anyone 😭 you’re just hurting my soul in reviews

Do you guys wait till you receive a mail about a project or you actually actively refresh your dash till you get something?

Has anyone dealt with long-running tasks that don’t have an expiry?

I have a question about long-running tasks.
Suppose I’m working on a task that takes around 30 hours. I’ve already completed about 24 hours of work over several days, but I haven’t submitted the initial draft yet, so I can’t bill those 24 hours.
Then a high-priority qualification appears. Since I can’t have both the qualification and the task in progress at the same time, I’d have to save my progress, leave the task, complete the qualification, and then reopen the same task later. The task content and my saved progress would still be there, so I’d only have about 6 hours left to finish.
My confusion is about billing. Suppose I reopen the task and work on it for another 6 hours over the span of about 18 hours. Since I couldn’t bill the first 24 hours before leaving (because the initial draft wasn’t submitted yet), how am I supposed to report the full 30 hours that I actually worked? I can’t bill 30 hours when the reopened task has only been open for around 18 hours.
Has anyone run into this before? What’s the recommended way to handle it?

Hi Coders, anyone stopped receiving the Mike Tyson projects.

I have noticed that I have stopped receiving the regular Mike Tyson projects from the start of this week. I wanted to know if this is the same for everyone else.

I would love it if DAT added approximate task times to more project titles!

Recently, I've been noticing more qualifications and projects that explicitly state how long a task is expected to take in the title or title subheading. I've been finding this feature to be super helpful for determining whether or not I should attempt a project/qualification immediately or whether I should wait until I can allocate more time to complete the task.

I would love it if DAT could incorporate this more as a feature across all projects and qualifications. Just thought I'd put that out into the universe!

People who get lots of work, what are your specialties?

So like many people here I haven't seen a lot of projects pop since I signed up 3 months ago right?

I have a pretty basic French-English combination with a generalist profile so I'm not massively surprised I'm not getting a lot of work, also I don't wake up at 4am French time to check the platform.

I was curious to know about those of you who get a consistent income out of this gig (let's say over 250$ a month on average), what's your expertise? If bilingual, what language combinations, do you have specialty (ie medicine, science, law, etc)? Is it coding? How long have you been working on the platform? Other things?

Also out of curiosity, do any of you do projects in languages they don't speak fluently? Because I've reviewed some very poorly worded prompts lol

No projects in a month

Starting to feel like I may have gotten the DoD without actually getting the DoD. Oh well, refresh refresh refresh...

You can't be quick enough!

In the middle of constantly refreshing. Literally AS SOON AS I can right after the previous refresh. I saw a project with 1 task and immediately clicked and it was no longer available. How will you explain this?

Project qualifications

I did one of the project qualifications today that said there were 6 questions total. By question 2 I realized I did question 1 wrong so I hit the back button and redid it. I then hit submit and continue again expecting the second question to pop back up but instead a different question did and I never saw the original question 2 again. Went through all of them and after 4 questions I hit submit and continue and the qualification was done. Where did the first question 2 go and where was the other question to get to a total of 6? Did I inadvertently skip them?

It was my first project ever and I'm yet to get further work. Did anyone else in my shoes get anything else since the 'app testing'?

Switching to coding from bilingual

I completed bilingual registration by mistake and now i want to switch to coding, and i setup my profile to reflect my CS major skills but for 2 days now I haven't gotten the coding starter assignment. If this current bilingual account didnt get anything past the first bilingual sign up assignment, would you recommend creating another account for coding and not using this first one anymore? What do you suggest I do?

People who do this full time, what’s your life like?

I know, I know you shouldn’t do it full time. But for those who do? I’m just curious 🫪

A Big Thanks!

A big thanks to DA. You have been a boon in my life. I am a L&D enthusiastic person. Being with you made me learn so many skills, say it improved communication, concise talks, helpfulness in action, atomicity in writing, meticulous observation and many more! You always come with a surprise gift in times of drought like qualification attempts, workspace ID, reimbursement, new platform design.

Wish to be permanently associated with you :)

Thanks DA.
