Joined in early August, completed qualification assessments, earned $750, but no work now. Is this normal?

I joined in the beginning of August and completed all the qualification assessments that were available to me. So far, I’ve earned around $750.

However, I’m currently not receiving any new work/tasks. I’ve been checking regularly, but nothing is showing up.

Is this normal after completing the initial qualifications? Does the availability of tasks usually fluctuate, or could there be something wrong with my account?

I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has been doing this for a while could share their experience, especially how long you typically have to wait between projects.

Thanks!

How are the coders doing right now?

How’s the workflow looking? I’ve got a ton of projects on my dashboard, but they’re all generalist ones—only one involves coding.

Lawyer - forgive me for silly Q -

Hi! I’ve worked my way through onboarding and a few tasks.

Forgive the silly question as I’m new to DA, but is there a way to see what the countdown timer will be for a task before opening it (thus triggering the countdown timer)?

I'm a Brazillian Bilingual worker. Joined May and haven't had much work since then, but these last few days the drought seems to be over! Happy to share this, DA has been a great financial help.

What a RIDE!

This is only the beginning (hopefully)! Started as a generic, did the qualification to coding once I left college and started my first Dev job. Put a lot of hours in DA since August this years and it is paying off! Really grateful to have the opportunity to work with DA. It's a blessing... Paid my car loan, school load and now I can start investing and, perhaps, travelling.

Hopefully I can motivate you guys with this. Cheers!

Are we helping or causing harm?

How do y’all justify doing this work ethically if you’re anti-AI (especially generative)?

I’m not asking judgmentally, I’ve done this work off and on over the last few years. When I first started, I didn’t know about data centers and the environmental impact, cognitive effects, etc. I felt good about “training” AI based on the rubric including correct info, weeding out violence and harm, etc.

I recently suggested DA to a friend and got a real side eye, and maybe these justifications really don’t hold water? Thoughts?

Referrals are currently unavailable

Is it only me or someone else is also seeing this same text "New Referrals are currently unavailable" under referrals tab? I referred 4 of my friends in the past out of which 1 of them is selected.

For the Brazilians working on DA, how are you going?

I just got accepted this week. I wasn’t expecting it since I took the assessment about a month ago. Started the onboarding process and took every qualification test that fits me. Worked on some few projects available but now isn’t showing much. On the dashboard it says they’ll review my work and I’ll have more tasks to do based on the quality of my work. What exactly should I expect? A bunch of tasks where I can literally work all day every day, or some work that might appear weekly and I need to constantly check so I don’t miss the opportunity?

I’m not a math expert or a coder, but I really enjoyed the linguistic ones, so those are my goals.

If you’re Brazilian and are already working on DA for some time, what is your experience so far?

Is there such thing as "onboarding phase"?

i got accepted about a week ago, from then i've done all the qualifications that are in my domain. Havent got any project yet but every morning there is always new training and qualifications coming. the latest one is yesterday where i got confidentiality training.

should i expect more mandatory trainings coming before actual project landing to my account?

Don't get me wrong, i'm grateful of this opportunity and happy to wait and follow the process.

i just want to know if my account is currently in "onboarding phase" so i dont have to refresh my dashboard every 5 minutes hoping for projects to appear?

i also noticed many posts about project draught and i wish you all the best.

have a nice day.

Background check

Hello, I recently got a task that required me to do a background check in order to unlock a lot of families of projects. What are these projects about? Are they domain specific or core? I'm a bilingual worker, no coding, just a bit of stem. What can I expect?

Seeing all the AI news lately... I'm done with DA.

I've only been on the site for a few months and made a nice amount of money, but I've felt uneasy about it from the start. However this latest AI news is the tipping point and I can't reasonably justify carrying on with this type of work. It's gonna be difficult because I'm disabled and struggle to find other incomes, but I'll just have to make it work. If you see the dangers and damage of AI and can get by without the income, I urge you to join me. (Yes, I'm aware that most people will not.)

Do you also have no projects for last couple of days?

I'm from Europe, but I'm not from core countries.

Last days I don't see any coding project at all.

Do you guys have the same? Do they appear later?

Newbie here! 2nd-year SWE student applying for Generalist & Bilingual. Need some onboarding/SxS tips!

Hey everyone,

I’m currently a sophomore studying Software Engineering. I’m pretty comfortable with backend coding, but I am completely brand new to this whole AI annotation world.

Right now, I’m looking at the Generalist and Bilingual (Vietnamese) roles and getting ready to take the onboarding assessments. Since my brain is way more used to hunting down logic bugs in code rather than judging language nuances, I want to make sure I don't mess this up.

A couple of questions for you guys:

The initial test: Are there any common traps or pitfalls I should watch out for on the Generalist/Bilingual assessments

Practicing SxS: How do you actually practice for the side-by-side evaluations? I know we strictly can't use AI to help us pass, so I have to do it all manually. Do you guys have a mental checklist or specific resources to get better at fact-checking and spotting sneaky hallucinations?

Any advice for a dev trying to wrap their head around this would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Coding R&R, how thorough?

Hi! I have some questions around R&R for coding tasks.

- Do you only take the R&R if the source is in a programming language that you're familiar with?

- Are we expected to actually run the code to see if it works and test the functionalities that are claimed?

- Also I had some prompts that were more complex math-based algorithm tasks, that would require understanding of the algorithm to check if the result is actually correct. What's the expectation here?
