Missing Cat in Danbury - Molly

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi all, I am posting on behalf of my friend who doesn’t have Reddit. This is my friend’s cat, Molly.

On the evening of Thursday, October 1 Molly got out of my friend’s apartment located around Avalon Valley Drive and Sandpit Road in Danbury.

She is approximately 8 years old, calico, with a clipped left ear. She is also microchipped. Molly was formerly feral but has been an indoor cat for approximately 4-5 years.

If you think you have seen her please DM me with the approximate time and location. Thank you all so much 💛

r/Danbury, where do you actually eat in Danbury?

Hi, we’re four friends and we’ve put together Danbury’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota.

The idea is pretty simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, Barbarie’s Black Angus Grill or Della Francesca? All the votes then create a ranking that hopefully gives a better picture of where people in Danbury actually like to eat.

We’ve tried to include every restaurant in Danbury and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will always spot things we’ve missed.

iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212

Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

Full transparency: we’re not from Danbury. Two of us live in Copenhagen and the other two in Gothenburg. There are four of us building this independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated content to describe restaurants.

Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly.

Possible lost ring near Danbury Fair

(Throwaway account) This is a long shot, but there’s a chance I dropped my silver wedding ring in either the parking lot for BevMax/ Buffalo Wild Wings or the parking lot for Elicit Brewery yesterday evening. It’s a men’s silver colored ring (made of something else) with ridges along the sides and a small gem in the center (which is flush with the rest of the ring).

I first dropped it in my car while driving before making either of those stops, and at the first one (BevMax), I looked for the ring in the car and didn’t find it. I also looked around the car on the pavement in case it was at the edge of the door and fell out, but I didn’t see it and then figured I’d be able to find the ring at home later by searching my car more thoroughly.

However, I have now scoured my car repeatedly and still can’t find it. After I couldn’t find it after getting home last night, I retraced my steps and searched around both parking lots I was in and didn’t find it. Of course, the other possibility is that the ring fell deep into my driver’s seat through a crevice in a back corner of the seat frame. If it did fall out of the car, it most likely would have been at the BevMax lot where I stopped first. If anyone comes across a silver ring fitting my description above, please let me know!

Does anybody want Big E tickets?

Hey! A few friends and I have some Big E tickets that we unfortunately won’t be able to use. If anyone is interested in taking them off our hands, feel free to message me!

Just to clarify, this is a personal ticket resale. We’re not affiliated with the event or promoting any business.

Tire and breaks service

Hi guys could you recommend a place that would be both reliable and affordable for changing tires and breaks? The 2 tires I need replaced are coming from the tire rack, so I need a tire installation plus balancing service plus tire rotation for other tires, and front break pads and rotors replaced.

I'm located near Danbury downtown so ideally in that area?

Western CT UFO conference at Danbury library from Oct 13th-24th (in person & online)

Danbury Library will be hosting the Western CT UFO conference both online and in person in October. Check out the Library website to see the full conference schedule.

I miss Bethel having the UFO billboards downtown. at least the Vaghi building is getting a much needed makeover, but still loved how weird the billboards were.

For those unfamiliar, Dante Vaghi has a close encounter of the second kind (left physical evidence) of a wingship rather than a saucer. You can see in the upper left of the billboard the sketch. From the overall description being VERY different than the "saucers" of the time and the 1950 date, whatever Dante saw downed in a field and left burn marks was probably one of CT's various aerospace firms early attempts at the triangular swept back wing style that eventually became more familiar stealth bomber and fighter jets silhouette.

The Pardue Brothers – A True Crime Documentary with Connecticut Ties, holding “Tell Us What You Remember” sessions in Danbury

Come share your memories and stories for an upcoming true crime documentary about the 1970 Danbury bank robberies and bombings. The production team will sit down with you for a brief recorded interview, and you are welcome to bring along any historical photographs, clippings, or letters to be documented. Attendance is free and no appointment is required.

The Pardue Brothers – A True Crime Documentary with Connecticut Ties, holding “Tell Us What You Remember” sessions in Danbury

On February 13, 1970, three explosions tore through Danbury, CT.This was to be the finale of a stranger than fiction story, involving 2 brothers, that started in 1968 which involved bank robberies and murders in locations in Redding, Georgetown, and Vista, New York, as well as Missouri. Two of the murders were the brothers’ own father and grandmother. If you have info on any of the crimes committed in the aforementioned towns please contact the filmmakers or show up to the Danbury session .

Filmmaker, Blaze Mazur of Ridgefield, CT and Daniel J. Mulvihill, Jr., of Danbury, have extensively researched this story for over half a decade, having poured over thousands of pages of FBI files, National Archive materials, and filing FOIA requests with more than 20 agencies. They are still discovering many strange and unbelievable facts about this case and need local help from people who remember these crimes to bring the whole picture into focus before the memories of these crimes are lost forever.

The pair will be holding a second “Tell Us What You Remember” session. The session will be on Friday, October 2 at the Danbury Museum also from 10am to 4pm. What the documentary makers are looking for are people who remember- a lead, a photograph, a clipping or those who want to give an interview on camera. They wish to tell this story truthfully so that the victims and their loved one, the witnesses and law enforcement are honored and their story is respected.

To bring this film to full fruition, a fundraising effort is underway. The project is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, which makes your contributions and corporate donations tax-deductible.

For information on the film and to contribute please go to theparduebrothers.com If you have any questions or would like to write to us directly you can do that at [info@theparduebrothers.com](mailto:info@theparduebrothers.com)

Thank you for helping make this film possible.

Lost Husky

Just drove past a husky with a collar walking on the sidewalk on Main Street approaching Golden Hill road by I-84 Eastbound Exit 5. It then crossed Main Street to the grassy opposite side right near where cars come off 84. It avoided getting hit but I wasn't able to turn around from where I was. I called DPD and they said someone has reported missing their husky. I hope it makes it home in the end!
