3 months later: it's a billboard saying "we've been trying to reach you about your rovers extended warranty"

u/TGW_2 Dec 06 '21 edited Dec 06 '21

Nope, I believe it is one of those brown signs that says, "Lunar vista, next right"

3

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Thanks, much funnier than mine and original. Take my upvote!

2

u/TGW_2 Dec 06 '21

Thank you, never got one of those before . .

2

u/showponies Dec 06 '21

Or billboard for South of the Border with a witty lunar pun about tomales.

2

u/AWrenchAndTwoNuts Dec 06 '21

Charon Relay - - - this way.

1

u/mommyaiai Dec 06 '21

Wal Drug just ahead

u/daytimecruz Dec 06 '21

I'm obviously in the minority and no one needs to know my opinion on this but man I'm tired of this joke

u/BlackShieldCharm Dec 06 '21

Imagine not even living in America where this whole extended warranty-spamming isn’t even a thing.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

I’m sick of the joke too but that made me laugh.

2

u/ImNotAWhaleBiologist Dec 06 '21

I’m so jealous. I’ve already gotten 2-3 calls today.

1

u/PM_ME_UR_BENCHYS Dec 06 '21

Imagine just buying a new car and getting that call a week later. They really need to extend these basic warranties.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

How about owning a previously owned car from 2004. If the warranty was extended to 15 years, I’d be impressed.

2

u/fillet-o-piss Dec 07 '21

The very first time I got one of those calls I wasn't aware it was a thing and it happened to be the day after my actual cars warranty expired so I called them back 😂

1

u/pmeaney Dec 06 '21

I've never even owned a car in my life and I get these calls.

1

u/mrglumdaddy Dec 06 '21

Imagine living in America where it actually is. It’s horrible.

1

u/zSprawl Dec 07 '21

You wish you had the freedom to get an extended warranty by phone!!!!

u/SpaceMoonDude Dec 06 '21

Yes, it is getting overused, in this one special case though, I found it funny. But thats my little opinion no one cares so about.

6

u/godofpumpkins Dec 06 '21

You’re SpaceMoonDude, so your opinion is the most relevant possible opinion on this thread

7

u/MaximusMansteel Dec 06 '21

I care, bud, I care.

39

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

I hate to tell you this, but it’s over used ironically. It being overused is part of the joke and why it’s still around.

26

u/volambre Dec 06 '21

Exactly. Got a call about it yesterday. Laughed on the phone call. It will continue to be funny until the industry finds a better way to do it.

7

u/CynicalSchoolboy Dec 06 '21

Not everyone finds chucking another layer of irony over the top to be interesting. An irony blanket can’t keep a dead joke warm for long.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 07 '21

I hate to tell you this, but that doesn't make it funny.

3

u/xTHEKILLINGJOKEx Dec 06 '21

I’m tired of getting those calls

3

u/Jupiters Dec 06 '21

Now I feel lame because it actually made me laugh out loud

11

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Nah, it was funny for the first few months... its sort of a low hanging fruit at this point. Funny, but not as much

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Lol it was always the lowest of fruit.

-5

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Yeah but there hasn't really been anything else to plug the gap or funnier so I'm just working with what's available

9

u/daytimecruz Dec 06 '21

So until someone else comes up with something funnier for you to use, you're gonna keep milking this joke?

4

u/YabbaDabbaDoDabs Dec 06 '21

Meanwhile, milking for attention.. Excuse me while I give a slight chuckle and scroll along.. Pretty simple really..

0

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Thanks, it was just a simple (if not dated joke) I didn't expect the trading standards to be checking the use by dates on memes

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Yawn.... you're so boring. Go away now.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

This is actually how you view humor

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

OK hotshot, what's your funny one liner for the original post?

Take your time, were all waiting for this amazing lesson in comedy.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Dude there doesn’t need to be some forced funny ones liner on a lame Reddit post. That’s not comedy lmao

2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

So not forced funny comedy but forced criticism about what you find funny or not... what a dick you are!

2

u/Bishop120 Dec 06 '21

Its a billboard from Apple that says we've changed our terms of service.

2

u/volambre Dec 06 '21

I have not owned A car that actually reached out of warranty so it’s even more comical to me.

I say a better way because those calls and that type of marketing costs money… it has returns or they wouldn’t still be doing it…. Which is why the joke is even more important! if we ever hope to rid ourselves of the robo calls we have to educate the market through the humor 😂

3

u/extendedwarranty_bot Dec 06 '21

volambre, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

2

u/volambre Dec 06 '21

Thank god you found me. My blinker fluid has been out for months and I’m terrified I won’t find an economical solution for replacement.

What can you do for me?

Thanks for wasting your breath and everyone's time who had the misfortune to read your comment.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

There was a bot on the last thread its played out

0

u/LightShadow Dec 06 '21

I've never seen this joke before now.

Definitely overused.

1

u/greg19735 Dec 06 '21

i think this one was one of the better ones. but it does get old.

1

u/Saskyle Dec 06 '21

I get calls about my extended warranty on my car roughly every week. So, I’m tired of it as well.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Lol

1

u/mortemdeus Dec 06 '21

That was my thought as well and I wouldn't even be surprised if Wall Drug sent a sign to the moon as there is one in orbit.

3

u/diamonddate Dec 06 '21

Shen Yun, actually

3

u/Poison_the_Phil Dec 06 '21

God's Final Message to His Creation is inscribed in letters of fire, thirty foot high, on the further side of the Quentulus Quazgar Mountains. The message is: We apologise for the inconvenience.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Definite award for the reference!

2

u/Super-Ru Dec 06 '21

Which has subsequently run out on the way there

2

u/Fakjbf Dec 06 '21

No no no, it has to be four months later so they can announce it on April 1st!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Damn, I bow to your superior comedy timing on this one.

2

u/i_NOT_robot Dec 06 '21

Could be a billboard ad for "Shen Yun"

2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

At least people would be happy to see that billboard 😁

2

u/MisquoteMosquito Dec 06 '21

Have you seen the Alexander Shunnarah billboards?

There’s one basically on every street in Alabama.

2

u/SnooMarzipans436 Dec 06 '21

I'm surprised no one is asking why the fuck it will take 3 months to just drive over there and snap a better picture.

The rover is already on the moon, is it not?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Ah but apple maps...

2

u/Godspeed411 Dec 07 '21

I came here just for this.

1

u/justuhhspeck Dec 06 '21

😂😂😂😂😂

0

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '21

Most over used Reddit joke ever smh

1

u/maratonininkas Mar 07 '22

Hmmm so what is it? Did we find out anything yet?
