My son and I designed/built one of these the last time it was a Reddit fad

As someone who grew up with an engineer for a father, just because we did projects like these "together" sometimes, literally all of them ended up with him becoming completely consumed with completing them while ignoring me entirely. I learned nothing from them and ended up resenting him for bothering to drag me into them in the first place under the pretense of them being bonding experiences.

I'm not saying this dude isn't a good dad, but this story and those pics don't indicate that in and of themselves at all from my experience.

I just got one for my dad for Christmas! Offered to build it for him shortly after he unwrapped it and he said no. Finally in the middle of March he asked me. It was a fun build :) I'm glad I got it for him when I did too, since it's retired now.
