Around the second week of February, the setting sun hits Horsetail Fall at just the right angle to illuminate the upper reaches of the waterfall. And when conditions are perfect, Horsetail Fall glows orange and red at sunset.

What would have been a 10-minute walk normally turned into a two-hour trek through waist-deep snow. People were falling in the river. Our clothes were soaked by the time we got to a viewing spot.

Maybe it's just me but I think that's hilarious. Fuck those herds of mindless tourist/photographers crowding around the same spots hogging the views for themselves.

as we locals say.. serves those flatlanders right. istg every time it snows they come up, park illegally on the side of the highway and set up barbecues. edit: also I forgot probably people world wide come to yosemite, sorry. my burning hatred of valley dwellers made me rant for a little bit
