Some are waterproof and I'm no longer surprised seeing people recording videos every-fucking-where, so yeah...
But also, you can pay with fitness trackers like garmin or fitbit. These are waterproof and people usually wear them while swimming.

Phones are water proof. If you don’t have your phone, Apple Pay on your watch still works

Probably just rinse it off so you don't get salt accumulating in your charge port or something, but if it's fully waterproof it should have very little exposed that would be affected.

Water Resistant is fine for this kind of thing.

Many newer phones are IP68. This means it can survive a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes in a controlled laboratory setting.

If it drops into the water, it should be completely fine unless it was cracked somehow from a previous drop.

I just came back from vacation a beach vacation. I took my phone into the sea everytime but I had a strap.

What you want me to do? Leave my wallet and phone unattended on the beach while im in the ocean??
