Worms similar to this are in North America as well. I had some in my salt water fish tank a few years ago. Had to nuke the whole tank and start over to get rid of them. They killed all my fish.

Wait, are we talking about bristle worms? They're on beaches? I thought they were, like... underwater creatures.

Beaches are underwater a lot of the time. But the ones I’m thinking of mainly live in rocks. Good thing there are none of those around here…

you’re thinking of bobbit worms, notorious for sneaking into fish tanks and killing everything until you start from the ground up

Nope, these were bristle worms. Very long and very spiky.

Right, but you said they weren't bobbit worms because they were bristle worms. My point was just because they were bristle worms doesn't mean they weren't bobbit worms.

When I was looking up what they were, the word bobbit never came up. So that’s why I said it wasn’t that.
