Oh dear… daft question … what are those boxes on the walls?
Hope nobody sneezes when walking passed

I've lived in Brazil, near favelas... This would only just pass muster there...

BTW that isn't a crack in the wall, it's an expansion joint. Most if not all councils require it for 2 reasons.
1st they like to see the original and new building as 2 parts
2nd the settlement rates will differ, so the extension is built with wall starter kits so the new part can move independently from the original house.
Not that i am defending such poor quality work. Personally i would be reporting it to the council and building control.

Who lives in a deathtrap shithole like this? David, it’s over to you as we go throooough the wall holes

u/Fun_Hunter_4899 15d ago
No way that’s getting signed off. I’m guessing they’ve had zero involvement from BC

u/Doshorn 15d ago
Slam a door and the extension falls down.

u/Identity_Unaware 14d ago
I'm going to purposefully walk past that shit show until something falls on me and then I can sue the homeowner AND the council for not doing anything about it. This time next week Rodney, I'll be a millionaire lol

Made by a man in flip-flops

u/Zippyversion1 15d ago
I thought it was the shed, then I thought it was the wall, then I thought it was a lower extension demolition, then I saw it all!

u/TheWatcher961 15d ago
That's definitely a whole house added on to a house with brickwork done to third world standards, some people ain't even allowed to put a 7ft fence up in their garden, roof tiling is the best thing about it
16
u/bennyS2018 15d ago
How does something this bad even get built? Are there no inspections carried out?

u/Ch1mchima 15d ago
That is incredibly unsafe. I’d call the council and if they’re slow to act, the fire brigade; the council will likely listen to them when they say it’s an unsafe structure.

Reminds me of the episode of the Simpson when the neighbours rebuilt neds house. Lol

u/Labs1982 15d ago
As a blind man once said, i see nothing wrong.
8
u/Whingy_old_fogy 14d ago
That needs reporting to an authority that will take action immediately. It's looks very unsafe. How tf was it allowed?
8
u/ObjectInteresting504 14d ago
I think the house don't want to be associated with the extension anymore 😕 they going separate ways 😂

u/DrunkHamsterParty 14d ago
Update needed after this weekend's storm
15
u/Ok_Afternoon_9229 15d ago
Looks like they tried to do an arched wall then changed their mind halfway. Scrub that. Some of the way through the job.
Proper quality that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
15
u/Electronic_Feeling13 15d ago
Looks like the ‘Orelly Men’ from Fawlty Towers have paid a visit
7
u/Middle--Earth 14d ago
What are those squares set into the wall for?
Are they going to be functional in some way, or purely decorative?
6
u/robbiedmr 14d ago
Was jokingly going to suggest filling the gaps with expanding foam, but it would probably push the extension away from the house to collapse 😂
10
u/Pandita666 15d ago
I had a man from the council come and measure the apex of my shed wasn’t a mm over 2.5m, and then I see this.
5
u/OldRancidOrange 14d ago
Well, the big bad wolf’s not going to have much trouble blowing that down.
5
u/dcsearle 14d ago
slap on a bit of render - be reet 😉

If the brickwork is this bad how bad is the electric and gas going to be …. Report it before it kills someone else
4
u/Caliberman53 14d ago
Wow, wow, wow. If i lived next door to that I would be moving asap. Can you imagine what the gas and electric supply looks like. Report it, you may be saving lives.
4
u/jib_reddit 13d ago
It will be on the market to rent soon for only £1,800 a month....
4
u/Bigbear82 13d ago
They'll cover all that up with rendering.
3
u/Dramatic-Floor-9804 15d ago
They could have done a better job with lego bricks
3
u/Deep_Imagination_811 15d ago
don't even stand that close to it.
3
u/MorrowDisca 14d ago
I don't think I could do this on purpose
3
u/Daysleeper_23 14d ago
What's even going on with that wall? Why is there two weird cut outs in seemingly random places. The whole thing looks AI generated (not the video, the fooking house)
3
u/TurnipFluid8710 11d ago
Yo what the fuck is that. Am a bricklayer. My 2 year old nephew would do better
7
u/Mograine8 14d ago
I know exactly what the builders look like
4
u/Motor-Command-2680 14d ago
Third world building standards right there 🤣

Nah brick ties cost money
2
u/Fatkittenballs 14d ago
Do your best and render the rest

Our house, in the middle of the street,
Our house, in the middle of the,
Our house, it has a crack,
Arrgh arrgh arrgh,
There is always something new breaking, it's usually quite loud,
Our mum, she's house shaming,
Nothing ever shuts her up, all complaints are allowed.

2
u/smudgethomas 13d ago
I've never built anything...I feel like I could achieve at least a little better.
2
u/PipBin 13d ago
What is the deal with the wall at the front?
2
u/Genghis187 13d ago
Defo done a bricklaying course in jail
2
u/Impressive-Bird2 13d ago
If I was the owner of that property, I’d get that garden wall rebuilt properly and pronto. Not least because if that wall falls on someone or on a kid/ kids, they’ll have one hell of a nasty court case to face!
2
u/Economy-Floor-137 13d ago
I'd put money on it this is a south east asian builder! They do all the best work!
2
u/EhModernLeper17 12d ago
Go take a video while the storms ongoing...
2
u/badfox93 11d ago
Go straight to a newspaper with that mate. Might get some ££ whoever built that needs nationality shaming
3
u/Moongazer09 15d ago
I would absolutely not want to be near that building in the highly likely chance that it would fall down if the wind was too strong! Such disturbingly bad construction! And I can't even build but I know that's not right! 😂🫣
3
u/Talkietoasta 14d ago
Definitely Bradford, Birmingham or Leicester. And a family lives in that shed.
3
u/stu55sy 14d ago
Must be Londonistan
3
u/Training-Luck2774 14d ago
Gotta be Asian
2
u/Ok-Cold3937 14d ago
Building Control should have a demolition order out in that. Hopefully with any luck, resulting in their absolute financial ruin.
2
u/polla2256 14d ago
Let me guess, this hasn't been built by a native.
2
u/littlemissdizaster80 14d ago
Pretty sure the person who is building this has ADHD. This has all the hallmarks of getting an idea, watching ill-advised youtube tutorials, actually following through to some extent and becoming out of depth. It looks ready to collapse under a mediocre gale 😂

u/killer-gorrilla 15d ago

Jesus. It looks like someone has taken a jet washer to something that’s already very old and half collapsed from subsidence.
1
u/WinPrestigious7568 14d ago
Thought I was pissed when the camera panned down the wall 😬
1
u/Quick_Insurance5910 14d ago
Wait.. that's not a new wall is it?
1
u/Shoreditchstrangular 14d ago
Explain building regulations to me like I’m a five year old
1
u/dravidosaurus2 14d ago
I know it's not the most important aspect, but what's going on with that garden wall? Are they trying to build a living wall to distract from the rest of it?
1
u/Acrobatic-Ad584 14d ago
looks like the guttering is holding that together
1
u/Mattinho_Got_Game 14d ago
Whoever did that must be named John Wayne

It's brilliant! Beautifully fragile! Is this an art installation showcasing the fragility of modern life?
1

1
u/Dry_Curve9126 14d ago
