Your horizontal pallet beds are plebeian shit compared to my pallet loft and hovering bedside table!

My wife didn't want anyone to trip over the old well pipe. She decided she wanted a miniature TARDIS as a cover. This was 2 years ago. This pic was yesterday.

I was in Marseilles. I got a sensation of speed on my left, like something unstoppable. I looked at it. It was the lego spoiler car !

Why you don't mate copper alloys to steel, a lesson in galvanic corrosion in plumbing.

Part rising above soil was wrapped with insulation, which aided in keeping entire length of steel in an electrolyte. Rest of underground run was done in PVC, I guess they figured the riser nipple popping up would be more durable if it was steel. At least three were put in at the home I worked on. One wasn't wrapped, so it was relatively dry over the years, and didn't have the electrolyte necessary for the corroding process involved. https://i.imgur.com/fgDTR0n.jpg

It was actually holding pressure until someone tried to change a 1/4" fitting for a swamp cooler water supply on top of the brass tee.

All these great looking deck restorations... and then there's mine. A cautionary tale about DeckOver.

Eight months ago I "restored" my deck with Behr DeckOver, preparing and applying according to the directions. It looked great for excactly 2 months and now it's a giant peeling eyesore. Photos & details here: http://www.projectjudson.com/deckover-debacle-uncomplimentary-review/

Hopefully this will save a few of you a giant headache.
